Abstract
227,832. Fernbrugg, B. Fiala-, and Wohl, V. H. Jan. 18, 1924, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Drawings to Specification. Current and electrification detectors; locating conductors.-An apparatus for indicating high or low frequency alternating or intermittent currents or fields consists of a glass, quartz, or like tube filled with a mixture of gases containing a noble gas under a pressure of between 1 and 15 mm. of mercury, preferably 5 mm. The tube may be provided with an electrode or with two electrodes one at each end, the electrodes being either sealed into the tube or applied to the outside thereof. One electrode may be earthed through a condenser. The gas filling may be neon, with a small addition of xenon, krypton, argon, helium, or hydrogen. The apparatus may be used as a safety device, a signalling device, or a detector for finding hidden cables or. conductors.
