Abstract

227,794. Ridelle, L. C. E. Jan. 14, 1924, [Convention date]. Buttons.-The shank b, Fig. 7, is connected to the shell or face-member a of the button by a cup c which engages the inner end of the shank and also a peripheral groove in the shell a. The back-piece e, which fits over the shank and which may be used to secure a cloth covering j on the button is provided with a spring disc h, the edgo of the perforation of which is formed with resilient tongues to grip the shank b. This disc prevents separation of the parts after they have been assembled. In the modified form shown in Fig. 8, the shank is made sufficiently long to pass through one or more additional button parts, the back piece of each part being provided with a disc spring h. The cloth coverings of the different parts if any are provided, may be of different colours. The Specification, as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises a construction, Fig. 7<a>, (Cancelled), in which the disc spring is omitted, resilient tongues to grip the shank b being formed at the periphery of the aperture in the spring plate e. Fig. 10 (Cancelled) shows an apparatus comprising a pair of dies r, l between which the shell and back parts of the button are assembled by hand pressure. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
