Abstract

485,446. Buttons. FURSTENBERG, F. Sept. 8, 1937, Nos. 24530 and 24531. Convention dates, Sept. 9, 1936 and Oct. 22, 1936. [Class 43] The metal upper part of a standard shaped fabric - covered button is ornamented by moulding pressure and the covering of the button is additionally secured in place by adhesive or by mechanical means which cooperate solely with one or both of the two metal parts of which the button is composed. In the button shown in Fig. 4, the additional securing means is an appliquÚ 4. Fig. 12 shows a button in which the fabric is attached by an adhesive, Fig. 14 shows a button in which the covering is held in place by rings 14 secured by tongues 15, and Fig. 10 shows a button in which the covering 1 is held on the button by strips 9. Flower or other patterns may be impressed in the upper part of a button. In the above constructions the button is pressed to the shape shown by suitable dies either before, during or after manufacture.
