Abstract

A kitchen packaging cutter has a replaceable blade 2 clamped by a plate 3 to a body 1. A guide slot 6 is formed through the body length. A free turning roller 4 protrudes slightly over the guide slot 6 with a cutting edge of the blade 2 just clearing roller 4. The guide slot allows plastic food packs and cartons with varying flange measurements to pass between the cutting blade and roller to facilitate the cutting of the package and subsequent release of its contents. A second protruding cutting edge of blade 2 is sighted to the left of the body in right angle 7 and enables the opening of cardboard boxes, whether wrapped in plastic or cellophane, with little effort. A push-pull blade guard 9 may be fitted to the body to guard the second cutting edge. <IMAGE>

Description

KITCHEN PACKAGING CUTTER The invention relates to a kitchen packaging cutter.
Kitchen package cutters are well known forms which comprise of a blade attached to a handle or blade which retracts back into Lile handle.
There is a special type of kitchen packaging cutter which has a partialprotruding cutting edge on the left hand side set in a right angled cut out for opening boxes, especially those covered in cellophane or plastic. On the right is a fixed position free turning roller on which the blade just clears, this is for opening milk cartons or food which is prepacked in plastic wrapping or containers which have been heat sealed.
Guide slots in the body allows the sealed flanges of same to pass between the roller and blade bye passing the seams releasing container contents.
According to the invention there is provided a kitchen packaging cutter comprising a body of irregular form, a cutting blade which is repla;bblfia securing plate for securing, and releasing blade from the body. On the right hand side of the body is a fixed position free turning roller set to just clear the cutting point of the blade over guide slot, on the body left is a partial protruding blade giving a second cutting edge set a specific measurement from top side of the right angled cut out.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be descibed by way of example with reference to accompanying drawings in which FIG 1 Shows in perspective the cutter with blade securing plate and roller in position.
FIG 2 Shows the body.
FIG 3 Illustrates the separation of roller and roller spacer bush from body.
FIG 4 Illustrates the separation of the blade from the body.
FIG 5 Illustrates the separation of securing plate.
FIG 6 Illustrates the separation of the pull push blade guard.
Referring to the drawing,the cutter comprises.
FIG 1 A body 1 in the form of an irregular shape a cutting blade 2 which locates over blade 2 alignment ridge not shown.This gives the correct cutting angle also a securing plate 3. A screw bolt or similar means not shown, secures securing plate 3 and blade 2 to the body 1.
Roller 4 fitted with an easy push fit spacer bush 5 secured to body 1 by a screw bolt or similar means not shown. The cutting point of blade 2 is set to just clear the roller 4. Blade 2 is secured between body 1 and securing plate 3. Blade 2 passes from 7 to 6 slot 6 passes through full body 1 length.
Right angle cut out section 7 passes along the body 1 length left hand side, holes 8 for retaining pull push guard.

Claims (3)

1. A kitchen packaging cutter comprising a body of irregular form. A cutting blade which is replac3s4A securing plate for securing and a releasing blade from the body on the right hand side of the body is secured a free turning roller set to just clear the cutting point of the blade over guide slot on the body left is a partial protruding second cutting edge set at a specific measurement from top of the right angle cut out.
2. A kitchen packaging cutter as claimed in claim 1. Where in slight clearance of the cutting blade from the free turning roller, provided on the body control and make easy the draw through motion of material through the guide slot and between the blade and roller.
3. A kitchen packaging cutter as claimed in any proceeding claim where in the body is provided with a pull push protruding blade guard.
