Abstract

227,727. Peterson, J. July 1, 1924. Wrappers. - A container for tobacco &c. comprises an inner tray of stiff material, an intermediate wrapper enclosing the tray and the contents thereof, and an outer paper wrapper of substantial thickness. As shown, a sheet A of cardboard is scored so that sides 3 and ends 4 may be bent up to constitute a tray for the tobacco &c. The filled tray is placed upon the central part 5 of the intermediate wrapper B, comprising thin paper p and foil t, and flaps 8 - - 10 are folded upon the contents. The corner portions 11 are folded into triangular flaps, as shown in Fig. 3. The package is finally placed upon an outer wrapper C of substantial thickness, the end flaps 18 of which are creased or folded along lines 25 so as to form triangular flaps 30, Fig. 5, to overlie the flaps 8. The flaps 19, 20 are then folded down, folds 24 being formed at the corners of the package. The flap 20 may be secured adhesively, or a revenue stamp, rubber band, &c. may form the retaining means.
