Abstract

In a water washing unit for exhaust air, air flowing over a water surface induces water into upward passage 3 where it is both atomised and reconstituted by baffles 7 to an extent that the airborne particulate passing through it is by impaction water and water atomisation removed from the airstream and absorbed by the water. Both water and air are elevated and then separated at the exit of the washer by change of direction 8 from which the discharge is vertically downward. The contaminated water gravity drains to a lower level receiver whilst the purified air exits at a higher level. <IMAGE>
