Abstract

This system uses paper or lightweight board stock, in sheet, pad or book forms where the upper surfaces are pro-applied with low-tack (releasable) adhesive (A) allowing the data and images (B) to be secured by light pressure only for storage and release as required. The untreated under surface (C) protects the new and succeeding glued surfaces until it is used, each page peeling away to continue the process until the pad or the file or the book is filled or used up. The adhesive is distributed in a pattern e.g. strips or dots, appropriate to the differing functions of the system. The books, pads, sheets and boards are in sizes appropriate to individual needs and in conventional sizes to fit with existing filing systems such as 'A' sizes, diaries, etc. The adhesive is omitted from the top sheet of any stack in order to provide a protective 'cover' sheet. <IMAGE>

Description

Technical Field Relates to the storage of data and images for future reference.
Background There is a well-known need for storing and preserving Data and Images (press-cuttings, photostats, photographs, samples, etc)for future reference in the form of scrap-books, photo-albums, individual sample sheets and files.
Existing methods are cumbersome, messy (sprays and glues) and involve the purchase and storage of additional products - bottles and tubes of glue, spray cans, adhesive tapes and the like.
(In the case of photo-albums that utilise an adhesive page also require a sheet of acetate or its equivalent to both hold the photo in place and to protect facing photos from adhesion to each other and to other adhesive areas of the opposing page causing damage to the photographs.
The result is high production costs and extra weight of material).
Essentiai Technical Features This invention provides a method of storage and retrieval of a document (text or image) without damage to its structure by wet glues or harmful spray glues or by staining by such adhesives - of particular importance to the preservation of historical and archival material.
The pages, sheets and cards, with and without file punch-holes, forming the books or filing systems have pre-applied releasable (low-tac) adhesive distributed on the upper surface only, the distribution in patterns sufficient to hold the document to be stored. The under-surface of each preceding sheet, being without adhesive, protects firstly the pre-glued surface beneath and subsequently the document placed upon it.
