Description

SELF RELEASING SECURITY CHAIN This invention relates to a self releasing security chain.
Security chains are well known and are very effective, but cause hinderance in the event of emergency services requiring access e.g. Fire Department or Police.
According to the present invention there is provided, a security chain has an automatic release mechanism which is also burglar proof, as it is activated by an alarm.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be discribed by way of example with reference to the accompnaying drawings in which: Fig. 1 shows in perspective the security chain in its secure position.
Fig. 2 shows in perspective the security chain disabled.
Refering to the drawings the security chain comprises, a security chain 6 and a secure self releasing anchorage housing 2 releasably secured to the housing by, for example solenoid, catch or similar (not shown) In order for the end of the security chain 1 to be released as shown in Fig 2. The solenoid 4 is activated or de-activated.
To re-secure the security chain the feed to solenoid 4 Fig 2 is reversed.
