Abstract

A flexible hose (2) with a connector (1, 5) at each end, couples a portable toilet to a ground connection which is attached to the sewer pipe for the purpose of directly transmitting effluent or waste liquid from the portable toilet to the sewer. <IMAGE>

Description

PORTABLE TOILET WASTE/SEWAGE DISPOSAL SYSTEM This invention relates to a waste/sewage disposal system for portable toilets.
With the increasing use of recreational vehicles and marine vessels for leisure pursuits, the need arises for a facility to dispose of effluent from portable toilets on caravans, motorhomes and marine vessels directly into a sewer or holding tank.
It therefore falls on environmentally conscious site owners to provide proper facilities to allow the safe and clean disposal of effluent from portable toilets into the main sewer or holding tank At preset no such facility exists.
According to the present invention there is provided a sewage system for portable toilets which comprises a set of special connectors and a length of flexible hose. The connectors are coupled to the portable toilet of the caravan, motorhome or marine vessel and to the sewer connector flange in the ground to allow effluent to pass from the portable toilet via the flexible hose into the sewer or holding tank.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: Figure 1 shows in section the sewer connector flange with the connector inserted at one end of the flexible hose. The portable toilet with connections inserted at the other end of the flexible hose.
When the system is not in use a plug is inserted in the sewer connector flange to prevent access to the sewer and a cap seals the portable toilet orifice.
Referring to fig.1, the drawing shows the sewer connector coupling (1) attached to one end of the flexible hose (2) and inserted in the sewer connector flange (3), the '0' ring (4) ~ provides a push-fit gas tight seal.
At the other end of the flexible hose (2) the drawing shows connector coupling (5) pushed on to the portable toilet coupling (6) which is screwed on to the neck of the portable toilet the '0' ring (7) provides a push-fit gas tight seal.
The 'O ring (8) provides a gas tight seal between the screw on coupling (6) and the neck of the portable toilet (9).

Claims (3)

1.
A waste/sewage disposal system for portable toilets used in recreational vehicles and marine vessels and comprising a cast iron sewage connector flange which is coupled to the main sewer. A length of flexible hose with a push-fit connector at each end connects the effluent outlet of the portable toilet directly into the sewer.

A waste/sewage disposal system as claimed in claim 1. where liquids other than effluent are discharged to the sewer from a portable toilet, cassette tank or any other recepticle.

A waste/sewage disposal system as claimed in claim 1 or claim 2 where waste is discharged into a septic tank or other tan a main sewer.
