Abstract

The present invention relates to a stroboscope which has a central processing unit (CPU), a key board, a driver, a flash tube, a frequency controller, a flash tube driver, a pulse output circuit, an analog output circuit and a RS232 driver. The stroboscope is operable digitally and produces an amplified analogue output representative of preset and measured rotational speed values. <IMAGE>

Description

STROBOSCOPE DEVICE The present invention relates to a stroboscope particularly of the type which can set various rotational speed values in digital and programmed signals and display real rotational speed values or preset rotational speed values by a central processing unit and other auxiliary equipment. The stroboscope is also able to receive controlled rotational speed values transmitted from an external control device (such as computer) and output the rotational speed values by digital and analogue signals.
Because of the rapid progress and growth in technology, the functions and facilities of conventional equipment can be improved by new technology or skills.
The present invention utilizes a central processing unit to create a stroboscope which can present various rotational speed values (flash frequency), the maximum rotational speed value and the minimum rotational speed value. The stroboscope can control the rotational speed to increase to the maximum rotational speed value or decrease to the minimum rotational speed. The stroboscope can display various required data of the rotational speed values.
It is an object of the present invention to provide a stroboscope which can present various rotational speed values in digital and programmed forms by a central processing unit, a key board, an indicator and a frequency controller.
According to the present invention there is provided a stroboscope comprising: a key for keying preset rotational values and providing other operative functions; a central processing unit including memory means for storing software programs and the preset rotational speed values; a driver and an indicator for displaying data transmitted from the central processing unit; driver means for connecting the central processing unit with an external control device; a frequency controller for producing a specific pulse signal in accordance with a signal from the central processing unit; a flash tube driver connected to drive a flash tube, the flash tube driver lighting the flash tube by the said pulse signal; a pulse circuit for processing said pulse signal and then amplifying the pulse signal to output; and an analog output circuit for converting the pulse signal into an analog output signal.
In one embodiment of the present invention there is provided a stroboscope which can receive the controlled rotational speed values and output the signal by interconnecting an RS232 drive, pulse output circuit, analog output circuit with a outside control device.
An embodiment of a stroboscope in accordance with the present invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: Fig. 1 is a diagrammatic block diagram of a stroboscope according to the present invention, and Fig. 2 is a more detailed circuit diagram of the stroboscope of Fig. 1.
Referring more specifically to Fig. 1 a stroboscope in accordance with the present invention comprises a central processing unit (U1), a frequency controller (U2) connected to one output of the CPU, a key board 1 for inputting data into the CPU, and a driver 2 arranged to drive an indicator 3. A flash tube driver 4, a circuit 6 are all connected with the frequency controller and the driver 4 drives a flash tube 7. An RS232 driver 8 is connected with an output of the CPU.
The central processing unit (U1) is a control centre and provides memory for storing soft program or various rotational speed values. Key board 1 is provided for keying various rotational speed values into central processing unit (U1) and provide operative functions, such as switching on/off the power source, presetting the maximum and minimum rotational speed values, recall function, displaying the present and preset rotational speed values, controlling the rotational speed values to increase or decrease, locking the present rotational speed value and so on. The driver 2 and the indicator 3 display the preset rotational speed values transmitted from central processing unit (us).
The frequency controller (U2) receives the signal from central processing unit (U1) and produces a pulse signal whose frequency is identified with the frequency of the preset rotational speed values. The pulse signal will also transmit to the flash tube driver 4, the pulse output circuit 5 and the analog output circuit 6. The pulse output circuit 5 processes the pulse signal in calculating mode and then amplifies the output signal pulse. The analog output circuit 6 converts the pulse signal into an analog output signal, and the flash tube driver 4 will light flash tube 7 upon receiving the analog signal.
The central processing unit (U1) is connectable with an external control device (such as computer) by the RS232 driver 8. The Central processing unit (U1) can then receive operative signals and rotational speed values inputted externally of the control device.
It is understood by those skilled in the foregoing description is a preferred embodiment of the disclosed device and that various changes and modifications may be made in the invention without departing from the spirit and scope thereof.
