Abstract
226,672. Brand, D. C. Dec. 20, 1923. Laminar springs.-In laminar springs comprising a number of superposed rows of rods spaced apart and divided into groups or leaves, each group being formed of a number of rows, the rods being provided with end pieces, and the rods of one group passing through the end pieces, or extensions thereof, of another group, the leaves or groups are formed of a number of rows of rods provided with means whereby the various groups are easily assembled and taken apart. In Fig. 4, each row of rods is secured to a central block, and these blocks are superposed and secured together and to the axle of the vehicle. The ends of the upper and lower groups of rods are secured to end pieces, the end pieces p, p<1> of the lower groups being provided with perforated pivoted extensions n, n<1> through which the rods of the upper group are adapted to slide. In Fig. 5, one group of rods is divided into two sections q, q<1>, which are disposed one on each side of the other group, the rods of which are arranged to slide through extensions pivoted to the end pieces v, v<1> of the first group.
