  1. CLAIMS:

Method for reducing doubling in the shut-down phase of a sheet-fed printing press having multiple printing units, whereby the units and components needed for printing are stopped by means of actuators in a certain time sequence determined by a machine control, after the last one of a given number of sheets to be printed has passed through a printing unit, wherein, in a first step, after the last sheet has passed through a printing unit, its rubber blanket i0 cylinder and impression cylinder are uncoupled from the drive of at least the successive printing unit so as to have no disturbing effect on the latter, and wherein, in at least one further step, after the last sheet has passed through the last printing unit, all other units and components are 15 put out of operation.
