Abstract

The anti-midge proof hood has a fine tule hood with a drawstring round the neck. It is detachable from the foam headband by means of the shock cord lace. The lace also provides for adjustment in height of the hood to the headband.

Description

(PANEL A) ìTI~LdDGE PROOF HOOD This idea provides total protection for the head and neck against Midges in particular and biting insects in general.
During the summer months on the West Coast of Scotland biting Midges are a problem. The anti-midge hood will be invaluable to Campers, Outdoor workers etc.
This idea incorporates a simple head band and fine tule hood with adjustable shock cord lace and draw string.
Fig 1 Shows the anti-midge proof hood assembled Fig 2 Shows the fine tule hood and drawstring Fig 3 Shows the headband and shock cord with adhesive label (Pi B) Refering to the drawing.
The hood is detachable from the headband by loosening the shock cord lace.
The headband can therefore be raised or lowered in relation to the hood to suit the wearers needs.
The adjustable shock cord allows the hood to fit all heads.
The simple removal of the band and cord allows the hood to be worn over a hat and enough tule has been provided in the overall length to provide for this.
The hood is assembled by fitting the foam headband under the tule and the shock cord lace on the outside of the tule then tying the tule back into the split headband thus eliminating any necessity for sewing or glueing the components together.
The whole is then packed in a transparent sealed poly bag with instructions for adjustment as necessary.
