Abstract

A slide fastener has a female half 2 and a male half 3 releasably secured thereto by means of a slider 4. A stopper 10 prevents the slider from falling out. Fabric 5 secures the fastener to apparel or other goods. <IMAGE>

Description

SLIDE FASTENER.
This invention relates to a slide fastener.
Slide fasteners are well known devices used in joining together and opening wearing apparel, and other goods.
The not corzXon of these is the "Zip" fastener which has many segments which are difficult to manufacture.
According to the present invention there is provided a semi - circular length of material in the jaws of which is a slide which when moved upwards draws into it self the other half as shown, and when moved downwards opens the two halves. This will be simpler and cheaper to manufacture.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which.- Fig. I shows in perspective, the fastener with the to halves half closed.
Fig. 2 shows an end on view of fastener in open position.
Fig. 3 shows an end on vies of fastener in closed position.
Fig. 4 shows the slide seperately.
Referring to the drawing Fist. I the fastener comprises a female half 2 a mele half 3 a slide 4 and an end stopper 10. In order to close the fastener he slide is moved towards the stopper IO and in order to open the fastener the slide is moved in the opposide direction.
The fastener is made so that there is pressure at the meeting point of the female jaws 2 as shown in end on views Fig. 2 and Fig. 3.
The stopper IO is to prevent the slide 4 from exiting from the end of the female 2. The fabric 5 is shown t female 2 ano. nale 3 and allows the fastener to be secured to wearing apparel or other goods.

Claims (3)

  1. CLAIMS.
    I. A slide fastener comprising a female half in which is half of the slide and a male half which is inserted into te slide and into the female half so constxucted that as the slide is moved upwards or downwards the male half vill be drawn into the female, or she out.
  2. 2. A slide fastener as claimed in Claim I with a stopper at the top end of the female half.
  3. 3. h slide fastener as claimed in Claim I and Claim 2 which has joined to the male and female halves fabric which enables it to be joined to apparel or other goods.
