Abstract

225,628. Richardson, W. W. Sept. 6, 1923. Garages.-A garage for small dwellings comprises a chamber a located partially or wholly below the ground level, with a platform e on which the car g rests, and which can be raised or lowered by gearing driven by hand or power. A removable cover o is adapted to support part of a, natural or artificial garden u, with fencing, and may be raised with the platform and act as a shelter. When in lowered position, the garden is complete and the cover seals the aperture against entrance of rain. The platform may be counterweighted, and the cover adapted to slide over or to hinge on the side of the aperture, which is lined with concrete blocks or metal plates secured together by tension bolts. The centre of the platform may be open and a side ladder or staircase provided to give access to the chamber when the platform is in raised position, in order that the car may be inspected from beneath.
