Abstract

In the separation of waxes from liquid hydrocarbons, the waxes of greater and those of lower specific gravity than the liquid are first separated by cooling, e.g. to -15 DEG C., and centrifuging or settling the hydrocarbon liquid alone or after the addition of only sufficient gasolene or other diluent to operate the process efficiently. The liquid is then diluted sufficiently to enable the remaining waxes to be separated.
