Abstract

The hoist comprises a U-shaped frame (1) which in use is placed about a hole and which defines an aperture to register with the hole. An upwardly inclined arm (2) extends from the frame to a lifting point (31) located directly above the aperture. A number of adjustable fingers (9, 20) depend from the frame (1) to engage the sides of the hole in use. A foldable clamping frame (41) is provided for location a spaced distance below the main frame (1), to which it is connected by suspension elements (48). Tensioners (26) are provided on the main frame (1) to draw the clamping frame up to the main frame.
