Abstract

The rake heads are foldable and the handle telescopic for stowage in a golf bag. The head is locked by a clamping device. The handle length can be varied and locked in position by a spring clip. <IMAGE>

Description

PANEL A.
FOLDING SAND RAKE.
This invention relates to a folding and telescopic sand rake.
Rakes are not always available or provided at golf course bunkers. This invention is to provide a portable rake which can be folded and carried inside a golf bag like a normal golf club.
The folded length of the rake would be about the same length as that of a normal golf club, and with the rake heads folded into the stowage position, no wider than the head of a wooden club.
When stowed the rake head would be covered by a protective sleeve similar to an ordinary clubhead sleeve or sock.
Specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which FIGURE 1 shows the rake in the ready for use position.
FIGURE 2 shows the rake in the partly extended position with arrows indicating the hinged swing to the stowage position along the side of the handle.
FIGURE 3 shows the rake heads in the carrying position held alongside the telescopic handle.
PANEL B.
To prepare the rake for use the protective sleeve is removed and both head pieces unclipped from the handle and swung to the working position (FIGURE 1 ) where they lock into place.
The telescopic handle is extendable to a number of predetermined lengths up to approximately twice the length of a golf club, the desired length being set by a number of location holes in the inner tube of the handle,in which a spring loaded pin will locate.
To fold the rake the procedure is reversed. The heads are folded against the handle and clipped in the the stowage position. The spring-loaded pin A is released and the handle retracted to the closed position.
The protective sleeve is refitted and the rake returned to the golf bag.

Claims (6)

PANEL C. CLAIMS.
1. A folding and telescopic sand rake for carrying in a golfer's bag.
2. A folding and telescopic sand rake as claimed in Claim 1 for use in golf course bunkers..
3. Claims 1 and 2 for any other use apart from use in golf course bunkers.
4. A folding and telescopic sand rake as claimed in Claims 1, 2, and 3 above, having spring-loaded locking devicesfor the folding heads and telescopic handle.
5. A folding and telescopic sand rake as described above,having devices which are manually unlocked.
6. A folding and telescopic rake substantially as described herein with reference to FIGURES 1 and 2 and 3 of the accompanying drawing.
