Abstract

224,862. Maroger, S. Nov. 12, 1923, [Convention date]. Worm pumps.-A drum 5 is eccentrically mounted in a casing 1 and has a helical groove 9 in its periphery wherein slides radially a helical band 8 of the same diameter as the pump casing 1. The helical band 8 is prevented from moving longitudinally bv end plates 10 on the drum. One or more helical bands may be provided and the bands may be in sections. The drum may comprise a number of discs, Fig. 5, with oblique grooves 12 in which slide vanes 11 the vanes and grooves of successive discs being arranged in a general helical form.
