Description

A WRITING ASSEMBLY The present invention relates to a writing assembly, more particularly to a writing assembly having a plurality of different kinds of writing implement, which are mountable and detachable one on top of the other to form a single writing assembly.
Anyone who does a lot of paperwork is bound to use a variety of writing implements of different colors. Therefore, he has to buy a rainbow of writing implements, as is appropriate for his work. Most conventional writing implements write in one color only. There do already exist some writing assembly which contain two or more writing implements, but they are bulky and inconvenient to use.
It is therefore a main object of the present invention to provide a writing assembly with a new and improved body, adapted to hold different writing implements one on top of the other.
Anotn- object of the present invention is to provide one writing assembly which can effectively replace the plurality of single writing implements previously necessary to finish a given job.
Still another object of the invention is to provide a writing assembly with a low cost, which is easy to carry, and convenient to use.
According to the present invention, a writing assembly contains a plurality of writing implements, each of which single implements writes in a different color, and comprises: an elongated tube having a top open end and a lower end, the lower end having a tapered portion; a central bore extending from the top open end to the tapered portion; an annular groove formed on the lower end adjacent the tapered portion; a first engaging portion at said top open end; a writing material supplying means having a tip, said supplying means being disposed in the lower end of the central bore of the elongated tube in such a way that the tip protrudes from the tapered portion; and a connecting tube with an axial through-bore, having a first and a second end, the first end having an annular protrusion projecting from the inner surface thereof, the annular protrusion being adapted to engage the annular groove of the elongated tube, the second end having a second engaging portion, and being adapted to engage the first engaging portion of the elongated tube in such a way that it presses the writing material supplying means so that the tip protrudes from the tapered portion of the elongated tube.
Other features and advantages of the present invention will become apparent in the following detailed description including drawings, all of which show a non-limiting form of the invention, of which; Fig. 1 shows an exploded perspective view of the body of a writing implement of a writing assembly according to the present invention.
Fig. 2 is a fragmented sectional view of a writing assembly according to the present invention.
Fig. 3 is a fragmented sectional view of another embodiment of a writing assembly according to the present invention.
Fig. 4 shows a fragmented sectional view of a writing assembly with different writing material supplying means according to the present invention.
Fig. 5 is a partially sectional view of a writing assembly with different writing material supplying means according to the present invention.
Fig. 2 shows a fragmented sectional view of a writing assembly of the present invention.
Accordingly, the writing assembly has a plurality of writing implements (30, 30', 30") with different colors of ink and/or different styles of writing tips. It structural relationship will be explained with reference to Fig. 1. Each of the writing implements includes an elongated tube 10 with a top open end 15 and a lower end 11, the lower end 11 having a tapered portion. A central bore extends axially from the top open end 15 to the tapered end. The lower end has an annular groove 12, adjacent to the tapered portion.
The top open end 15 has internal threads 13 on its inner surface.
A connecting tube 20 has a first end 23 and a second end 21. The first end 23 has an annular protrusion 22 projecting from the inner wall thereof, that projection being adapted to engage the annular groove 12 of the elongated tube. The second end 21 has external threads formed on its outer surface, and is adapted to engage the internal threads of the top open end 15 of the elongated tube. The elongated tube also has a vent hole 14 in its body.
An ink reservoir having a writing tip can be disposed in the lower end of the central bore of the elongated tube in such a way that the writing tip protrudes from the tapered portion. The writing implements can be detachably mounted on top of one another as explained above, as best shown in Fig. 2.
Since the color of the ink in the reservoirs can differ, writing implements 30, 30', 30' can each write in a different color. So a person need only to carry one writing assembly of this kind to be able to write in different colors.
Figs. 3 and 4 each shows a fragmented sectional view of writing assembly of the present invention, wherein (in Fig.3) the writing implements 10 and 10' have the same body and same writing material supplying means, but different color ink. The writing material supplying means 40 contains a sponge ink reservoir 41, a writing rod 42 and a clamping member 43. In Fig. 4, the writing implement 10 is identical to that in Fig.
3 except a writing implement 10' having a differing writing material supplying means is detachably mounted on the writing implement 10.
As shown in Fig. 5, a writing assembly of the present invention includes an automatic pencil 10 having body constructed according to the present invention, containing a writing material supplying means 50 with a press button 51, a propelling member 52, a clamping member 55, a writing lead 53, as well as writing implement 10' having different writing material supplying means, which is detachably mounted on top the writing implement 10. The propelling member 52 is a trapezoidal article having an obliqued side which is an contact with the press button 51. When the automatic pencil is not in use, the lead 56 remains in the slot 53, while a spring 54 urges the propelling member upward. The lead 56 can be exposed for writing purposes be ;cyst pressing the press button 51, which in turn forces the propelling member 52 downward, thereby impelling the clamping member 55 to open and to let out the lead through the tapered portion of the elongated tube.
While the invention has been described in connection what is considered to be the most practical and preferred embodiment, the invention is not to be limited to the disclosure only, but on the contrary it is intended to cover various modifications and equivalent arrangements so as to emcompass all such modifications and equivalent arrangements.
