Speed, regulating.-A governor brake for a gramophone &c. driven by an electric motor comprises a tapered drum 41 the height of which can be regulated by a lever 45 acting through a pin- and-slot connection 43, 44 to raise the drum so that weighted lever brake pads 35 can engage the drum at its different diametral lengths.
