Description

SPIRIT HOLDING/WARMING SET This invention relates to a spirit holding/warming set and in particular a spirit holding/warming set for brandy, Chinese spirits and Sake.

At present spirit holding/warming sets exist for brandy and the like, however, such spirit holding/warming sets are basically in the form of heating arrangements separate from spirit holders, glass holders and the like.

In accordance with the invention, a spirit warming set comprises a holding member for a bottle of drink and/or a heating arrangement for warming of the drink, and glass holding means for at least one glass, the bottle holding member and/or the heating arrangement being detachable from the glass holding means This arrangement is advantageous in that the glass holding means can be detached for subsequent packing.

In particular the glass holding means is detachable from the rest of the spirit holding/warming set such that the arrangement can be packed within a smaller confined area.

Suitably the whole arrangement is mounted on at least a couple of wheels in order that the spirit holding/warming set can be easily moved along a surface (for instance between two people sitting at a dinner table).

Most suitably the heating arrangement and the glass holding means are situated on either side of the bottle holding member in order to balance the spirit holding/warming set.

Most preferably the bottle holding member is supported above the axis of the two wheels in order to provide a balanced spirit holding/warming set.

Suitably the heating arrangement comprises a heat source and a glass support member which is positioned relative the heat source whereby any glass mounted within the support member is held at a specific height above the heat source in order to provide correct heating therefor.

Suitably the bottle holding member and heating arrangement are fixedly connected together.

Preferably, the bottle holding member, the heating arrangement and the glass holding means are all integrally provided in the spirit holding/warming set whereby all the necessary equipment for spirit warming is within one arrangement.

Suitably the wheels are detachable from their axis in order to pack the spirit holding/warming set into an even more confined space.

Most preferably, the wheels have a diameter substantially the same as the diameter of the bottle holding member such that the wheels can be easily detached from their axis and placed on top of the bottle holding member for packing.

Suitably the end of the glass holding means away from the bottle holding member is provided with a support member such that the end of the spirit holding/warming set at which the glass holding means is situated can be supported on a surf ace such as a table. Preferably, the end of the heatinc arrangement away from the bottle holding member is provided sith a support member whereby the end of the spirit holding/warming set at which the heating arrangement is situate1 can also be supported on a surface such as a table.

Such an arrangement is easily detachable and packs into a small confinel area.

The invention wilt now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which a spirit holding/warming arrangement in accordance with the invention is shown.

In the drawing, a spirit holding/warming arrangement 10 is shown comprising three basic components, namely a bottle holding member 12, a heating arrangement 14 and glass holding means 16.

The bottle holding member 12 comprises basically a hollow circular member in which a bottle of spirits (see 15) can be placed and supported.

The glass holding means 16 meanwhile comprises a series of six support members in each of which a spirit glass (see 17) can be supported upside-down.

The heating arrangement 14 meanwhile comprises a heat source 20 and a glass support member 22 which is arranged to support a glass (see 21) above the heat source the required distance in order to obtain the required heating of the spirit contained within the glass without burning thereof. The heat source 20 can be either an alcohol or wax based burner.

The positioning of this support member 22 is also such that the top opening of the glass 21 within the support member is at an angle to the bottle 15 in the bottle holding member 12 such that the bottle can be easily taken out of the bottle holding member 12, and spirit poured into the glass 21 while positioned above the heat source 20.

The spirit holding/warming arrangement 10 is also provided with two wheels 24 which are supported about an axis 25, and support members at each end of the spirit holding/warming arrangement, one support (see 26) being positioned at the end near the glass holding means 16 and the other (see 28) being positioned near the heating arrangement 14.

The bottle holding member 12 of the arrangement is provided in the middle of the spirit holding/warming set in order to provide balance for the arrangement, and in particular the bottle holding member is situated adjacent the wheel axis 25 in order to provide balance for the whole arrangement since the bottle 15 is the heaviest component used with the spirit holding/warming set.

More particularly, the bottle holding member 12 is offset from the axis 25, and offset towards the heating arrangement 14 to partly offset the weight of all the glasses (see 17) positioned on the glass holding means 16.

The whole arrangement is in use integrally connected, however, the glass holding means 16 and wheels 24 are detachable for easy packing of the spirit holding/warming set. In particular, the glass holding means 16 is detachable from the bottle holding member 12 near to the axis 25 of the wheels 24, such that the glass holding means 16 can be removed and placed on top of the rest of the arrangement. In particular, two lower supports 32 of the glass holding means 16 snap fit into holders 34 mounted adjacent the axis 25, while one upper support 36 of the glass holding means 16 fits simply within a hole in a plate 38 mounted on the side of the bottle holding member 12. For detachment, the lower supports 32 are removed from the holders 34 by releasing the snap fit mechanism of the holders 34, and the upper support 36 is simply removed from the hole in plate 38.

The wheels 24 are also detachable and have a diameter substantially identical to the diameter of the bottle holding member 12, such that the detached wheels 24 can be placed on top of the bottle holding member 12 for simple packing.

Finally, a handle 30 is provided near the heating arrangement end of the set such that the set can be easily moved along a surface such as a table.

The above spirit holding/warming set has the advantage that components can be detached and the arrangement packed into a small confined area. The spirit holding/warming set also has the advantage that correct heating of spirit in a glass (see 21) is achieved due to positioning of the heating arrangement 14. Furthermore, the spirit holding/warming set has the useful advantage that all the necessary components and requirements for spirit heating are within one arrangement. Finally the whole spirit holding/warming set is mobile and stable, and thus is easily used by a number of people at a dinner party.

The spirit holding/warming set can be used with any type of spirit drink that requires warming, and in particular is useful for spirits such as Brandy, Sake, and Chinese spirits (eg Chinese Rose Wine).

Claims (12)

1. A spirit holding/warming set comprising a holding member for a bottle of drink and/or a heating arrangement for warming of drink, and glass storing means for at least one glass, the bottle holding member and/or the heating arrangement being detachable from the glass storing means.

2. A set as claimed in Claim 1 wherein the whole arrangement is mounted on at least a couple of wheels.

3. A set as claimed in Claim 2 wherein the bottle holding member supports the bottle of drink above the axis of the two wheels.

4. A set as claimed in either Claims 2 or 3 wherein the wheels are mounted on a common axle, and the wheels are detachable from this axle.

5. A set as claimed in any one of Claims 2 to 4 wherein the wheels have a diameter substantially the same as the diameter of the bottle holding member.

6. A set as claimed in any preceding claim wherein the heating arrangement and the glass storing means are situated on either side of the bottle holding member.

7. A set as claimed in any preceding claim wherein the heating arrangement comprises a heat source and a glass support member which is positioned relative the heat source whereby any glass mounted within the glass support member is held at a specific height above the heat source.

8. A set as claimed in any preceding claim wherein the bottle holding member and heating arrangement are fixedly connected together.

9. A set as claimed in any preceding claim wherein the bottle holding member, the heating arrangement and the glass storing means are all integrally provided in the spirit holding/warming set.

10. A set as claimed in any preceding claim wherein the end of the glass storing means away from the bottle holding member is provided with a support member.

11. A set as claimed in any preceding claim wherein the end of the heating arrangement away from the bottle holding member is provided with a support member.

12. A spirit holding/warming set substantially as herein described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
