Stair-rod fastenings; clip brackets.-A fastening for stair, curtain, &c. rods comprises a base member, having a transverse passage and a removable cap slidably mounted thereon, the arrangement being such that longitudinal and transverse motion of the rod is positively prevented. In the construction shown in Fig. 1 the rod 8 passes through holes 5 in a cylindrical base member 1, secured to the window &c. by a concealed screw 4, longitudinal movement of the rod being prevented by a slotted cap 6. The holes 5 may be replaced bv a slot. In a modification shown in Figs. 2 and 4, in which the rod overhangs the bracket, the cap 9 is provided with holes 9A and is screw threaded to receive a nut 11 which is screwed up against the rod to prevent longitudinal movement thereof. In the stair-rod fixing shown in Fig. 6, one or both sides of the base member 16, spaced from the stair riser by a rib 16<A>, is or are provided with a substantially horizontal slot 18 in which the rod 19 is retained by the cap member 20 one or both sides having substantially vertical slots 23. In a modification, the slots 18 may be replaced by holes the unslotted side of the cap preventing longitudinal movement of the rod. According to one Provisional Specification the cap and base member may have both sides slotted thus allowing the rod ends to project. According to the other Provisional Specification, the base member 1 may be provided with a slot or slots extending from the rim, the cap being screwed or otherwise. fixed to the base to secure the rod.
