Abstract

Apparatus for controlling the outflow of a syphonic cistern comprises positioning an aperture at an adjustable cistern low water level in order to admit air via a duct to the interior of the syphon and break the syphonic action when the cistern water level falls to a desired level. <IMAGE>

Description

VARIABLE QUANTITY FLUSHER.
Consists of a half-inch o/d rubber tube connected to the top cverfall which allows air in to break instantly the symphonic action of the flush.
Once the water level has dropped below the open end of the rubber tube allowing air to be sucked in by the vacuum in the overfall thus breaking the syphonic action of the water, the water stops flowing.
The amount of water required is regulated by a control lever attached to the open end of the rubber tube. The open end of the flexible tube regulates the level of the required water.
The amount control lever is easily fixed to the lid of the tank.

Claims (4)

1. The application is for a water saving device for use on toilet cisterns.
2. It consists of a flexible tube which esters into the top of thc inverted U-tube of a toilet cistern. The other end of the flexible tube is held below the surface level of the water in the cistern maintaining an air lock.
3. hen there is a syphonic action causing the water in the tank to drop, a water lock is maintained by the flexible tube. When the toilet is flushed and the water level dros to below the entrance of the flexible tube, the water seal is broken allowing air pressure te enter the inverted U-tube, t1us breaking the vacuum and releasing the flow of water into the cistern. The end of this flexible tube is attached to a hand controlled lever, which is adjustable to the volume of water required for each flush.
4. With existing systems the volume of water allowed to flaw from the cIstern is directly controlled by the operator. i.e. by the length of time the flush handle is held down. With MY system the amount of water allowed to Leave the cistern is pre-set, and therefore not varied according to the operators action.
