Abstract
A swim feeder has a hinged lid 3 held closed by a catch 4 which is released when the angler moves the feeder down through the surface water. Catch 4 is attached to an outer push rod assembly 5 which together with inner push rod assembly 6 is connected to a bush 8. A crook connects bush 8 to the rod or pole. <IMAGE>
Description
SURFACE TENSION FEEDER
THIS INVENTION RELATES TO A SURFACE TENSION FEEDER.
THERE ARE FEEDERS FOR DIFFERENT TYPES OF FISHING.BUT NONE
WHICH OPERATES FROM THE SURFACE OF THE WATER WHILE ATTACHED
TO A FISHING POLE OR ROD. MOST FEEDERS ARE USED ATTACHED
TO A RUNNING LINE AND ARE CAST OR THROWN AND FALL THROUGH
THE WATER TO A DESIRED SPOT. ACCURACY HAS BEEN A HIT OR
MISS AFFAIR DEPENDING ON THE SKILL OF THE ANGLER.
MOST FEEDERS ARE INCAPABLE OF BEING CAST OR THROWN INTO
THE WATER WITHOUT A LARGE DEGREE OF DISTURBANCE WHICH
RENDERS THEM NEAR TO USELESS IN SHALLOW WATER.
THE TENSION FEEDER PROVIDES A MEANS OF PLACING BAIT
CONSISTENTLY WITH PIN-POINT ACCURACY AND MINIMAL DISTURBANCE.
ACCORDING TO THE PRESENT INVENTION THERE IS A DETACHABLE
SURFACE TENSION FEEDER IN THE BODY FORM OF A ROUND CYLINDER
BEING OPEN AT ONE END ONLY, WITH A HINGED LID TEMPORARILY
SEALING THE OPENING TO THE BODY, THIS SECURED BY THE
PUSHROD ASSEMBLY CATCH, THE PUSHROD ASSEMBLY RUNNING THROUGH
GUIDES, AND THE BODY BEING ATTACHED THERE ONTO THE CROOK VIA
THE INNER PUSHROD ASSEMBLY, THIS BEING A LOCKING PUSHFIT TO
A STANDARD OR VARIABLE LENGTH CROOK. WHEN IN USE BEING
ADJACENT TO THE POLE WITH THE WHOLE DETACHED BY A CLIP-ON
CAP AND SPLIT PEG.

THE BODY OF THE FEEDER AS SHOWN IN FIG 3 1. TAKES ON A
ROUND CYLINDER FORM AND THE BOTTOM BEING OPEN 2. IS ANGLED.
ATTACHED TO THE SHORTEST ANGLED SIDE IS A HINGED LID TRAP 3.
THIS BEING TEMPORARILY CLOSED AND SECURED BY A CATCH 4. BEING
ATTACHED TO THE OUTER PUSHROD ASSEMBLY 5. THE INNER PUSHROD
ASSEMBLY 6. BEING THE STABALIZER, ALSO ACTING AS THE
SECONDARY RELEASING AGENT. THE PUSHROD ASSEMBLY ARE
PARTIALLY ENCASSED IN SMALL TUBES 7. ACTING AS GUIDES.
THE MEANS OF REMOVING THE FEEDER FROM THE CROOK AS SHOWN IN
FIG 2 9. IS BY A CATCHMENT BUSH AS SHOWN IN FIG 3 8. SITUATED
AT THE TOP END OF THE INNER PUSHROD ASSEMBLY 6. THIS BEING A
LOCKING PUSHFIT.
THE CROOK AS SHOWN IN FIG 2 9. BEING ANGLED AT THE LONER END
TO ENABLE THE FEEDER 1. TO BE USED IN THE CORRECT POSITION.
THE CROOK 9. IS DETACHED BY RELEASING THE PRESS FIT CAP 11.
WHICH HOLDS THE SPLIT PEG 10. ON THE POLE OR ROD AS SHOWN
IN FIG 1 12.
TO USE THE TENSION FEEDER ASSEMBLE IN REVERSE ORDER IN THE
STEPS DESCRIBED.
Claims (8)
1. ACCORDING TO THE PRESENT INVENTION THERE IS A DETACHABLE
SURFACE TENSION FEEDER IN THE BODY FORM OF A ROUND CYLINDER
BEING OPEN AT ONE END ONLY, WITH A HINGED LID TEMPORARILY
SEALING THE OPENING TO THE BODY, THIS SECURED BY THE PUSHROD
ASSEMBLY CATCH. THE PUSHROD ASSEMBLY RUNNING THROUGH
GUIDES AND THE BODY BEING ATTACHED THEREONTO THE CROOK VIA
THE INNER PUSHROD ASSEMBLY, THIS BEING A LOCKING PUSHFIT
TO A STANDARD OR VARIABLE LENGTH CROOK WHEN IN USE BEING
ADJACENT TO THE POLE WITH THE WHOLE DETACHED BY A CLIP-ON
CAP AND SPLIT PEG.
2. A DETACHABLE SURFACE TENSION FEEDER AS CLAIMED IN CLAIM 1,
WHEREUPON A TEMPORARY SEAL IS ATTACHED TO THE END OF THE BODY
THIS SEAL BEING PROVIDED WITH A CATCH TO CONTROL THE SEAL
AND OPENING AT THE END OF THE BODY.
3. A DETACHABLE SURFACE TENSION FEEDER AS CLAIMED TN CLAIM 1
OR CLAIM 2 WHEREBY TWO GUIDE MEANS ARE ATTACHED TO THE BODY
TO ARREST AND CONTROL THE CATCH BY MEANS CF A PUSHROD
ASSEMBLY INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF THE BODY.
4. A DETACHABLE SURFACE TENSION FEEDER AS CLAIMED IN CLAIM 2
OR CLAIM 3 WHEREBY THE PUSHROD ASSEMBLY IS CONTROLLED
INDEPENDENTLY FROM THE OUTSIDE OF THE BODY.
5. A DETACHABLE SURFACE TENSION FEEDER AS CLAIMED IN CLAIM 3
OR CLAIM 4, WHEREUPON THE UPPER PUSHROD ASSEMBLY, A CATCHMENT
MEANS BEING PROVIDED AND ADAPTED TO CO-OPERATE WITH THE LOWER
END OF THE VARIABLE LENGTH CROOK IN ORDER TO WITHHOLD THE
BODY.
6. A DETACHABLE SURFACE TENSION FEEDER AS CLAIMED IN CLAIM 5 OR CLAIM 6, WHEREBY THE CROOK BEING OF VARIABLE LENGTH AND
A CATCHMENT MEANS BEING PROVIDED ON THE UPPER END TO ARREST
THE WHOLE AND OPERATE THE PUSHROD ASSEMBLY.
7. A DETACHABLE SURFACE TENSION FEEDER AS CLAIMED IN ANY
PRECEEDING CLAIM WHEREBY THE BODY IS PROVIDED WITH ONE
HINGED LID, A CATCH JOINING A PUSHROD ASSEMBLY AND THEREOF
A CATCHMENT MEANS TO THE CROOK AND POLE OR ROD.
8. A DETACHABLE SURFACE TENSION FEEDER AS DESCRIBED HEREIN
