Abstract

Laminar springs.-In laminated springs provided with clips or the like to prevent relative lateral displacement between the leaves of the spring, the end of one of the leaves is turned down, joggled or otherwise shaped and passed through a slot formed in the clip or held rigidly between two members forming part of the clip &c. In Fig. 1, the end A<1> of a leaf is offset and passes through a slot formed in the detachable bridge-piece C of the clip, or the bridge piece may be in two parts each formed with a recess to embrace the end A<1>. In Fig. 3, the end A<2> is turned down and passes through a vertical slot in the bridge-piece E<1>, a cut-away portion E<2> being provided. In Fig. 4, the end A<3> is curved as shown and held between two appropriately shaped members G, G<1>. The clips may take the form of a buckle by making the bridge-piece integral with the remaining part of the clip. When applicable, pins D may be provided to obviate rattling. In all cases, part of the clip bears with a flat surface against the leaf adjacent to the leaf having a bent or otherwise shaped end.
