Abstract
An electronic mini steam iron with handle at 30 degrees to sole plate bottom, utilising various shaped sole plates with an electrically operated steam actuator switch mounted on handle allowing an abundance of steam to flow from separate steam boiler to flow through handle and sole plate via cast channels through holes in sole plate. Electrical power output to sole plate controlled from separate control box with variable control. <IMAGE>
Description
INTERCHANGEABLE ANGLED HEAD
ELECTRONIC PRESSURE STEAM MINI IRON
This invention relates to a mini steam iron with handle mounted at 30 degrees to the Iron sole or base plate.
The Steam Iron has been designed for use within the garment industry, clothing manufacture, clothing retail, clothing hire including clothing servicing.
In the above Industries it is common practice to steam garments to remove creases but it is also necessary to actually iron creases into clothes e.g.
trousers, ideally suspended in a vertical position for speed and ease of operation.
The iron sole plate or head is heated via an electrical element, an abundant supply of steam Is available from within a separate boiler, fed to the Iron head through a steam tube via steam channels cast inside the sole plate being allowed to escape through holes in base or sole plate bottom when desired by actuating an electrical switch on handle.
The iron having a handle mounted at 30 degrees allows it to be used at virtually any angle, this would have many advantages, for example when used horizontally when laying over seams in the clothing manufacturing Industry the angle of the hand grip would not allow excessive pressure to be exerted which would cause shiny crease reflections or impressions on the good side of cloth which is a problem incountered at present when using conventional Irons.
Claims (4)
1. A handle mounted at 30 degrees to the flat base or sole plate.
2. An electronic switch mounted on the handle to feed steam
through to the sole plate bottom via holes from steam channels In the
sole plate.
3. Various shaped mini Iron heads (two examples shown on
attached drawing).
Amendments to the claims have been filed as follows 1. Ughtweight iron with handle mounted at 30 degrees to the flat base
or sole plate incorporating moulded plastic handle.
2. An electronic switch mounted on the handle to feed steam through to the
sole plate via holes from steam channels in the sole plate. Steam
gererated in seperate boiler (not shown) with steam feed tube passing
through handle and connecting to sole plate.
3. Various shaped mini iron heads (two examples shown on attached drawing)
with temperature sensor in iron sole plate.
4. Electrical power supply via control box (Not shown).
5 A steam iron as described herein with references to figures 1-3 of
accompanying drawing.
