Abstract

Tanks.-A floating cover for oil &c. storage tanks comprises a central portion B which may be provided with radial reinforcements N and truss members 0, and a peripheral portion composed of members C outwardly pressed by spring plungers G and connected to the central portion by links F. The members C are connected to each other by fabric, and to the rim E of the portion B by a flexible member D. Excessive pressure is relieved through outlets I having automatic operating closures J. Rainwater is drained from the cover by a pipe K sealed by a, cup K<2>, and the water collecting in a well K<1> or on the bottom of the tank is allowed to flow off through cocks M<1>, L. The cover is supported, when the tank is empty, by legs R, locked in position in guides R<1>.
