PEG-HOOK CLIP This invention relates to a peg-hook clip as fitted to a peg-hook, which is inserted into peg-board, as used in retail merchandising.

Peg-hooks and the peg-board into which they fit are used extensively in retail outlets as a means of displaying and hanging various products. The peg-hook is held in position horizontally by locating the pre-punched holes in the vertical peg-board; products are hung on the peg-hooks and hang in a downward direction due to gravity.

According to the present invention there is provided a peg-hook clip whereby the peg-hook can be held sideways in the peg-board and therefore be used for lateral support of products and also as a divider of product types. The clip sits between the peg-hook and the peg-board and is held in position by fitting around the peg-hook, after the peg-hook has been inserted into the peg-board, at the point at which the peg-hook engages the peg-board.

A special embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: Figure 1 shows the shape of the metal clip before folding.

Figure 2 shows a front view of the clip after folding and ready for use.

Figure 3 shows a side view of the clip in a strengthened form. The sides at 10 have been welded at the edges.

Figure 4 shows the clip in use together with a peg-hook fixed into peg-board.

When the clip is fitted between the peg-hook and the peg-board the peg-hook is held firmly in position (Figure 4).

The clip can be strengthened by welding the sides together at the edges 10 as illustrated in figure 2 and 3.

The clip can be used with different gauge wire peg-hooks by varying the distance 12 as shown in figure 3. The distance 12 is marginally greater than the wire gauge of the peg-hook to which is relates.

Claims (4)

1. A peg-hook clip which when clipped over a vertically engaged peg-hook and between the peg-board prevents movement of the peg-hook in any direction.

2. A peg-hook clip as claimed in 1 whereby the sides have been welded together at the edges for added strength.

3. A peg-hook clip as claimed in any preceding claim where the internal dimension is altered in order to accommodate a peg-hook of different gauge wire.

4. A peg-hook clip substantially as described herein with reference to figures 1-4 of the accompanying drawing.
