Abstract

Acaricidal detergent compositions for cleaning carpets, upholstery, bed linen and the like comprise a mixture of surfactants, an alcohol such as benzyl alcohol having acaricidal properties, a glycol or alkyl glycol solvent such as diethylene glycol monoethyl ether, and an alkanolamine or amine such as monoethanolamine in a combination such as effectively to wet the hydrophobic surfaces of dust mites, their larvae and oocycsts and thereby eliminate such dust mites and their allergens.
