Abstract

Independent laminar parts 2 abut the smaller sides 1 of a tray-shaped box. The parts 2 form in each corner a diagonal element 3 for supporting an overlying stacked box. Vertical angular ribs 9, 10 are also formed, which improve the support and are located in end portions of the laminar parts 2 which abut the larger sides. <IMAGE>

Description

Z 1 REINFORCEMENT DEVICE FOR CARDBOARD BONES
As expressed in the title of this specification the invention deals with a reinforcement device for cardboard boxes which is useful in.tbe inside in the smaller sides of the box, forming, in turn, support for another box piled on top.
Cardboard boxes known as trays for transporting fruit, in other wordE, those that are open at the top, are difficult to pile on one another.
In the state of art it is known to incorporate.inside the angles of the box some angular wooden pill'ars or ones made out of folded cardboard.
In other cases the wall of the sides are extended into a lap large enough to cover the inside the- surface of the smaller sides, even part of the sides and form along with the angles a diagonal wall lower than the walls to form a lodging whereon, in superposition of piling, the'angles of the base of another box rest.
This type of construction has serious problems in the mechanical mounting of boxes, without solving the problem of resistance in piling.
The solution bas been sought by incorporating the reinforcement by an independent piece, but the same features of weakness are maintained.
For the specific purpose of increasing the resistance of boxes piled up, the invention proposed some laminarrieces independent from the boxes which h a v e been provided with aside from the diagonal wall area which covers the inner angles of the box, some vertical angular ribs distributed in the extnesions which cover the sides of the box. These ribs act as pillars so that the box to be piled on rests on them.
- 2 The number of these vertical ribs can be increased or decreased depending on the dimensions of the boxes to which the reinforcement is applied.
This wav the resistance of the walls is increased and this makes it possible to make securer piles.
In view of the above and as an illustration of this specification some drawings are attached and they show the following:
Figure 1: Formation diagram of a box and of two reinforcement pieces each one of which corresponds to the smaller sides of the box.
Figure 20. Perspective of one of the reinforcement pieces folded in mounting arrangement.
Figure 3: Perspective of a box made up of the lamina of figure 1 and with the reinforcement pieces coupled inside thereof.
Ascan be seen in the indicated drawings, the box is made up of a laminar body-and remains in the form of a tray. The side pieces 2- which cover the, smaller sides -1- are coupled over the inside part of the smaller sides. These pieces are extended in end extensions -3- and -4 which remain diagonal to the angles of the box, forming support points for other superpositioned boxes.
Following said extensions -3- and -4- some laps -5- and -6- which are to be backed upon the side walls -7- and -8- of the box are formed, whose laps have vertical parallel cleavage lines with which triangular ribs -9and -10- which also form support points for the superpositioned boxes are formed.
With the arrangement of these elements it is possible to have enough resistant support points to support a large number of piled up boxes without them becoming deformed.
