Web feeding and guiding arrangements; line-spacing mechanism. - The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes the following web-feeding devices in connection with a cash register for printing items, totals, and other data upon a voucher issued and for printing totals upon a record strip retained in the machine. The voucher is served from a strip which passes from a supply roll under a guard 116, Fig. 10, (Cancelled), and past the item wheels 111. Immediately before itemprinting the voucher strip is fed forward one space by the rollers 117, 118, of which 117 has a ratchet feed 120. During total-printing the voucher strip is first fed to move the printed items forward past a member 212 which prints a special line, and secondly after the total is printed, to move the voucher to the severing mechanism. For this a second ratchet feed for roller 117 comprises a ratchet 215, Fig. 8, (Cancelled), and a pawl 214 camactuated from shaft 188. The record strip 144, Fig. 8 (Cancelled), which is tensioned by a spring plate 238 passes over an autographic table 235 to a receiving roll 237 supported by an arm 243 having a pin 247 normally engaged by a slot 246 in a spring-pulled latch 245. To remove the strip from the roll 237 the latch is disengaged and the arm 243 is moved clockwise until a second pin 248 on the arm 243 is engaged in in the slot 246 to retain the roll 237 elevated. The receiving roll 237, Fig. 13 (Cancelled), is geared to a wheel 250 carrying a ratchet 252 operated by a pawl 253 carried on an arm 254 fast on shaft 251 together with an arm 255 connected bv link 256 to a segment 257 operated by rollers 258, 259 and cams 260, 261 on shaft 84. A pawl 262 prevents retrograde movement of the receiving roll. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
