Abstract

A decorative Georgian or Japanese appearance can be produced in standard windows by an add-on unit made of plastics. The unit is constructed of frame members defining unglazing openings. It is hinged to the normal window frame and held in position by screws. Security alarms may be included between the main frame and the add-on frame. <IMAGE>

No glass involved, fitted to any existing frame, double or singe glazed.
All sections in proportion to the size of the window.
Security (Fig ) two hidden alarms, situated wide apart so that an intruder cannot reach both, one must function.
Shop windows of steel plastic coated.
Fig 2 Nylon Hinge, Nylon pina push fit and longer than the flap. Flap screwy hidden. Flaps are fitted inwards.

IMPORTflNT-This section (Fig ) must be maintained to give perfect internal vision.

Claims (9)

1. A solid plastic construction without glazing involved in any way.
2. A solid construction that has the benefit of hinges, at least four, hidden behind the main section (Fig4).
3. The hinge idea allows the entire frame to be swung either way allowing the existing window to be cleaned.
4. As in claim I, the centre section of the struts do not track the existing glass. The main frame(Figl) is attached to the existing frame with the detachable hinges.
5. The hinge pin is longer than the hinge flap as shown in (Fig 3) to facilitate easy removal.
The hinges are nylon manufaction and the pin of brass or non ferrous material. The pin is a push fit.
6. The main frame is incorporates anti-vibration screws at least four are employed as shown (Fig 4).
7. As in Fig 5.
The struts of the Georgian frame must be maintained in Georgian style to give the correct visual effect from inside and outside the window.
8. Security is incorporated in the main frame structure.
Pressure switches hidden between the main frame and the existing frame.
The switches located as far apart as possible at least 2 switches so that an intruder cannot reach both and so that one must function.
9. The Japanese style frames (Fig 2) has no glass involved and the struts are one inch square. Everything else is the same as incorporated in the Georgian style.
