Abstract

A board game for 2 to 6 people or teams played by throwing dice to move pieces around the board, with the object of landing on appropriate wine areas and buying tasting tokens with currency, obtained at start of game and when passing start point. Interest is added by drunk and sober cards. When 3 wine tokens are collected, the wine may be tasted after landing on the appropriate square. The object of the game is to taste various wines and correctly guess their origins, type, etc. On guessing correctly a connoisseur medal is won. At the end of game the winner will have the most medals. Wine is provided by the players and the host, as agreed. and then listed on the wine cards. <IMAGE>

Description

The Wine Tasting Game 1. Board game for 2 to 6 players or more if made in teams.
2. Dice game with two dice thrown.
Start Wines and number of bottles to be used chosen by the players.
Players choose which wine area he/she is going to have and takes appropriate coloured bottle covers for wine, to obscure labels.
Each player/team selects their playing piece. Suggested ideas would be a plastic replica of a small bottle, corkscrew, cork, grapes, glass and barrel.
Each player/team has 600 units of exchange, units to be 50 and 100's.
Each player/team has 12 tasting tokens to bebought by other players, token to be appropriately coloured cards with wine illustrations on.
Each player/team has a tasting glass.
Commencement of Game Play commences with players throwing dice, the highest number starting and moving clockwise around the board from start square.
When player lands on coloured wine square he/she may purchase Wine tasting token from the owner for the amount shown on the square.
When a player has three wine tasting tokens the player/team has the right to taste the wines when landing on the appropriate wine area.
These tasting tokens maybe bartered or exchanged between players/ teams on the way round the board.
When player/teams land on square labeled Drunk or Sober he/she takes a card from the appropriate pile and follows instructions.
The cards may be kept for future use if applicable. Wken passing start square player/team collect 50 echange units.
When playeriteam has three tasting tokens and lands on appropriate coloured wine area the owner offers a list of X number uf wines and fills players glass for tasting. The player/team then guesses from the list offered which ** wine he/she is tasting (indicated in secret) to owner. If collect, he/she receives a wine connoisseur medal to be work round the neck.

Playing Pieces 1. Board as shown. With ijipabie surface.
2. Two dice.
3. Six player pieces e.g small plastic bottle, barrel, corkscrew, grape, cnrk and glass.
4. Coloured bottle covers (iii plastic) to drop over bottles to disguise labels.
5. Unit of exchange, paper money in units of 50 and 100 up to 10,000.
6. lasting token cards, ifl ot teach wine area coloured appropriately and deccr;3ted.
Number of glasses for tasting.
8. Number of wine connoisseur medals on ribbon to be hung round neck.
One real size corkscrew.
10. Drunk and Sober cards e.g drunk coul be, grape pickers strive miss next qn, or drink driving conviction - loose token.
Sober could be, good harvest - collect one green area token, or wine tasting invitation - move to next vineyard.
II. Supply of 'ijne in either j huttle, half bottles or smaller (if available) und li9t of wines especially for the game, to lie negotiated with wine importer or appropriate party.
N.B Game could be upgraded e.g by choosing grape type, area of country wine comes from, vineyard, year etc using new sets of cards purchased from supplier.
The design of the board is only a suggestion at this stage and could be altered at a later date if necessary.

1. A BOARD GAME COMPRISING A HARD FOLDING BOARD AND INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING:2. 6 PLAYING PIECES 3. 2 DICE DRUNK AND SOBER CARDS ON DURABLE PICTURE BACK CARDS 5. COLOURED BOTTLE COVERS 6. UNITS OF EXCHANGE TAKING THE FORM OF PATER MONEY.
7. PLAYERS TASTING TOKENS 8. WINE CONNOISSEUR MEDALS 9. CARDS FOR LISTING WINES 10. A BOARD GAME WITH THE BOARD MARKED OUT WITH APPROPRIATE COLOURED SQUARES, TO BE PLAYED BY UP TO 6 PLAYERS OR 6 TEAM, AS REQUIRED. ALL CONTAINED IN A GOOD QUALITY CARDBOARD BOX.
