Abstract
A rocker for a baby carriage or crib and for coupling thereto to produce a back and forth motion simulating that produced by hand comprises a movable frame (2) having a pair of limbs provided at each end with a strip (4) having a groove (5), a stationary frame (3) having a rotatable shaft which passes through a pair of grooves (5), and a housing (6) coupled to the stationary frame (3) for housing a motor (7) having a shaft (12), one end of a connecting rod (13) being coupled to the shaft (12) and the other end being coupled to the movable frame (2). The baby carriage or crib is located on the movable frame (2). <IMAGE>
Description
Rocker for a baby carriage
As is expressed in the title of this specification, the following application consists of a rocker by means of which back-and-forth motion is provided to baby carriages, cribs or the like.
The conventional way of rocking babies in a crib is done by carrying out the back-and-forth motion by hand which aside from causing a loss of time causes the person who is doing so to become tired out.
Likewise, a mechanical way of making a rocker is placing the crib on some floor guides and by means of a connecting rod the crib remains connected to a motor backed against the wall.
Thus, the motor produces the back-and-forth motion of the guided crib on the floor.
This rocker has the inconvenience of requiring the assembly of the guides in the room, as well as the motor backed to the wall. The same cannot be used anywhere else.
With the use of the rocker that the following invention proposes which is adaptable to any model of crib, these inconveniences are avoided as the element to be rocked remains solidly connected to it.
The rocker itself is made up of a stationary frame and a second moveable frame, the moveable frame generally being rectangular and the one which is provided in the ends of its longer sides and in its bottom surface some strips in orthogonal position, provided with a groove by which a bearing shaft is guided in such a way that said shaft is solidly connected to the stationary frame.
The stationary frame shorter than the moveable frame has a drive motor-reducer solidly connected to it which produces the back-and forth motion of the moveable frame.
Thus, both frames will be connected to each other by means of an articulated connecting rod by one of whose ends it solidly connected to the moveable frame and by the other end it is solidly connected to the motor shaft, in such a way that the rotation movement of the motor is transformed into back-and-forth motion of the moveable frame, to which the crib or element to be rocked is connected.
The motor-reducer remains fastened by means of some strips connected to each other by means of plastic blocks and likewise
said strips are fasten to the frame by means of plastic
blocks, which prevent the same from making noise.
In order to complete the description which is going to be
made hereafter and for the purpose of helping to provide a
better understanding of its features the present specification
is accompanied by a diagram in whose figures the following is
represented in an illustrative non-restrictive manner:
Figure 1.- It shows a bottom plan view of an embodiment
in which it is seen how the stationary frame remains upon
the moveable frame, as well as the connecting rod which con
nects the moveable frame to the motor shaft.
Figure 2.- It shows a side elevational view of the - embodiment in which it is observed how the moveable frame, located
upon the stationary frame remains guided by a strip provided
with a groove, as well as the receptacle in which the motor is
located.
In view of the commented figures and in accordance with
the numbering used we can observe how the rocker 1 is made
up of a moveable frame 2 which remains on top of the sta
tionary frame 3.
The moveable frame is formed by two longitudinal bearers
joined by a pair of cross members, the longitudinal bearers
remaining under the longer sides of the moveable frame 2 and
said longitudinal bearers being shorter.
The moveable frame 2 is provided in the ends of its
longer sides with a strip 4, in orthogonal position, provided
with a groove 5 through which the shaft of a bearing solidly
connected in a rotatable manner to said shaft and said shaft
being connected to the stationary frame 3. In other words,
in the ends of the longitudinal bearers of the stationary
frame a shaft, passing through the groove 5, with respect
to a wheel which is rotary remains.
The stationary frame 3 has fastened to it a receptacle 6
inside of which the motor 5 is located. Said motor 7 is
mounted on some strips 8 solidly connected in turn to the
strips 9 by means of some rubber blocks 10, in such a wav that these strips 9 are joined to the stationary frame by
means, likewise, of some rubber blocks 11. upon effecting
the joining by means of said rubber blocks 10 and 11 motor
noise and bothersome vibrations are avoidec.
The shaft 12 of the motor is connected to one end of the articulated connecting rod 13, in such a way that its other end is fastened to the moveable frame 2. Thus, the circular motion is transformed into a back-and forth motion of the moveable frame to which the element to be rocked is connected.
When the motor is driven, once the element to be rocked is on the moveable frame 2, the rotating movement of the motor transmitted to the connecting rod 13 will be transformed into a back-and-forth motion which will move the moveable frame 2 on the strips 5 producing the same effect as rocking a baby carriage or crib by hand.
Hence, the stationary frame 3 remains on the floor the element to be rocked remaining on top of the moveable frame 2, the receptacle 6 remaining below it.
Claims (3)
1. Rocker for a baby carriage and for coupling thereto to produce a back-and-forth motion simulating that which is produced by hand, the rocker (1) comprising a movable frame (2) having a pair of limbs which is provided at each end with a strip (4) and each strip (4) having a groove (5), a stationary frame (3) having a rotatable shaft for passing through a pair of groove (5), and a housing(6coupled to the stationary frame (3) for housing a motor (7) having a shaft (12). one end of a connecting rod (13) is coupled to the shaft (12)and the other end is coupled to the movable frame (2).
2. Rocker, to be used for the coupling thereof to any type of baby carriage or crib to produce a back-and-forth motion similar to that which is produced by hand and which is essentially characterized because the rocker (1) consists of a movable frame (2) whose longer ends are provided with both strips (4) in orthogonal position, provided with a groove (5) and a stationary frame (3), which is shorter, provided in the ends of its side longitudinal bearers with a shaft passing through the groove (5) of the end strips (40) of the movable frame (2) with regard to which a wheel is rotary, it being foreseen that the stationary frame (3) has solidly connected to it a receptacle (6) for housing the motor (1) whose shaft (12) is connected to an end of an articulated connecting rod (13) while in the other end of the same the movable frame (2) is connected.
3. Rocker substantially as hereinabove described with reference to the accompanying drawing.
