Abstract
Any selected one of a number of cards 6, each bearing a representation of an item and each being coded at 61, may be inserted into a cassette 91, whereupon the coding is read and electronic apparatus causes a speech simulator to pronounce the name of the item. <IMAGE>
Description
TEACHING TOY
SUMMARY OF THE PRESENT INVENTION
This invention relates to a teaching toy.
It is the primary object of the present invention to provide a teaching toy which may pronounce the word of the picture printed on the circuit card.
It is another object of the present invention to provide a teaching toy which has a toy's appearance to attract children.
It is still another object of the present invention t provide a teaching toy which is simply in construction.
It is a further object of the present invention to provide a teaching toy which is economic to produce.
Other objects, merits and a fully understanding of the present invention will be obtained by those having ordain ry skill in the art when the following detailed description f the preferred embodiment has been read in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS FIG.1 is a preferred embodiment of the present invention;
FIG. 2 is the circuitry of the present invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS With reference to the drawings and in particular to FIG.1 thereof, there is shown 2 preferred embodiment of the preset invention comprising a toy 9 having a cassette 91, a receptacle 4 and a circuit card 6 having located on an edge thereof a plurality of terminals 61.The cassette 91 is placed in the toy S with only the receptacle 92 left outside of the toy 9 for accommodating the circuit card 6 which, as will be explained, has located thereon a circuit format, capable of causing the cassette 91 to validate circuitry and therefore energize the circuitry to pro@@@@ce the word1 only for insertion of validate circuit card 6 into the receptacle 92.
Wit:' reverence to FIG.2, there is shown a circuitry of this invention comprises a number of terminals 61 located on an ede of the circuit card 6 and terminals 93 located at the end of the receptacle 92, and an encoder IC 3, an EPROM IC 2 (IC 2732,) a
CPU IC 1 (IC 6502,) a decoder IC 8 (IC 7414,) a voice frequence processor 4 and a speaker. The terminals 61 of the circuit card 6 is adapted to coact with the card accomodating receptacle 92 whlch is located and associated with the cassette 91. The receptacle 92 has a corresponding terminal for each terminal located on circuit card 93.The encoder IC 3 is snatched t the circuit card 6 and is arranged to convert the DC voltage to logical signal at the output terminals of the encoder IC 3.
The: logical signal are applied to EPROM 2. The EPROM IC 2 is t count and accumulate the logical signal and applied the signal to CPU TC 1.The CPU IC 1, upon receives the signal, will compare the logical signal with a number of predetermined reference signals, arid if logical signal is compared the same with one of the predetermined reference signal, the CPU IC 1 will applied the signal to decoder IC 9 which will convert the signal to DC voltage and applied to voice frequency processor he The voice frequency processor 4 in turn will amplify the DC voltage and trigger the speaker 7 to pronounce the word of the picture printed on the circuit card 6. It is noted that the terminals have 5 contact points and, therefore, may produce thirty (30) different changes. It is, however, understood that the exact number of the terminals are not limited to 5 contact points. The more the terminals have, the more change it will have.
Claims (3)
1. A teaching toy for teaching children to recognize the picture printed on the circuit card, comprising: a circuit card having located on an edge thereof a plurality of terminals; a soundable toy having a cassette, a receptacle an encoder IC, an EPROM IC, a CPU
IC, a decoder IC, a voice frequency processor and a speaker, said cassette has a number of terminals located at the end of the said receptacle to coact with the terminals of the circuit card, said encoder IC is matched tc the circuit card and is arranged to convert DC voltage to logical signal and output through its terminals, said EPROnI IC is to accumulate and count the logical signal received from the encoder IC and output the signal through its terminals, said CPU IC will compare the signal received from the EPRO'i IC with the predetermined reference signal, and if the logical signal is compared the same with the predetermined reference signals said eu IC vill output the signal to the decoder IC, said decoder IC, upon receives the signal from the CPU IC, uill convert it from logical signal to a DC voltage and applied to the voice frequency processor, said voice frequency processor, when receives the DC voltage, will amplify the voltage and trigger the speaker to pronounce the word of the picture printed on the circuit card.
2. A teaching toy incorporating electronic apparatus,
including a plurality of cards each card being electronically coded to represent an object displayed on the card,
the card co-operating with the electronic apparatus to pronoubeethe identity of the object when inserted into the apparatus.
3. A teaching tog substartiallS as herein described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
