Abstract

A support cane comprise a tube 1 anchored in the ground or in a plant pot, and an inner tube 2 received in tube 1 and anchored to a plant by bracket 4 and a tie whereby tube 2 can move upwardly as the plant grows. A seal 3 prevents abrasive material entering between the tubes. <IMAGE>

Description

GROWING CANE This invention relates to a device which can be placed either in a plant pot or the ground and is able to grow with the plant in question. It can be made in various sizes so it is suitable for small potted plants or saplings. It works by means of a tube within a tube. The inner tube would be anchored at the top by a bracket and tie and as the plant or tree grows so the growing cane will expand upwards at the same time.
The cane can be used time and time again as it will be made in extruded aluminium tubing with a seal at the expanding joint to keep out any abrasive substances e.g soil etc.
The base will have a small protusion to keep device anchored in the ground or pot. In order that the device can be clearly understood and carried into effect, one embodiment, given by example only is described by the accompanying drawings. The drawings are numbered by working parts 1-7. Tube No.l will be fixed into pot or ground by protusion plate No.5. Innertube No.2 will move upwards as the plant,to which the device is attached to by bracket No. 4, grows. Seal No. 3 will be fitted to stop any abrasives jamming movement of one tube within the other. Name plate No.7 will be mounted on lower tube for labelling attached plant or tree.

Claims (5)

  1. CLAIM
Application No: 22182 1) In my opinion a growing cane is a totally new invention and detailed description is as follows: A Growing Cane comprises of an anchored outer tube and smaller inner tube which can be attached to a growing plant by means of a small clip or 'The Bracket' enabling the inner tube to therefore grow with the plant. Differant sizes will be made to enable 'Growing Cane' to be used on any size plant up to a small tree.
  2. 2) The Growing Cane as claimed in Claim 1 will have a small seal to prevent abrasive substances interfering with the movement of the two tubes.
  3. 3) The Growing Cane as in Claim 1 & 2 will be anchored at the base by a small plate or protusion for arresting movement of the cane whilst in the plant pot or in the ground.
  4. 4)The Growing Cane as claimed in Claim 1, 2 & 3 will have a small nameplate attached to the lower tube for labelling plant or tree.
  5. 5) The Growing Cane substancially described herein with reference to figures 1-8 of accompanying drawing.
