Abstract
220,825. Worthington, W. S. Sept. 19, 1923. Receiving sets, construction of.-A set of units for a receiver in which each unit consists of but one component, or a component and its complement, mounted on a separate panel, has on the edge of each panel bordering on another only two terminals which are so situated as to be immediately adjacent to the companion terminals on the adjoining panel. The Figure shows a crystal set consisting of three panels carrying respectively a lightning arrester f, a variometer g, and a crystal detector h, provided with co-operating terminals b, c. The panels are preferably of equal width. The components may be mounted behind the panels with the controls only on top. The largest of the set has preferably a square base. and combinations of the smaller panels preferably have a length equal to the length of the largest panel. The Specification also describes a loosecoupled valve set employing reaction and provided with a fuse lamp in the filament circuit, and connecting panels allowing the units to be arranged otherwise than in line. The Provisional Specification describes the use of inter-engaging terminals, and panels with interfitting edges and means for mounting the panels.
