Abstract
220,586. Soc. Anon. des Etablissements Baer. Dec. 6, 1923, [Convention date]. Clips, lever.-A fastener for belts, of the kind comprising a casing 1 between the turned-down sides 2 of which a clamping lever 3 is pivoted, has the clamping lever so constructed and arranged as to clamp the free end of the belt against the rear face of the buckle casing at a, point nearer to the extremity of the free end than the point 4 about which the lever pivots. In the construction shown, the butt end of the belt is secured to the clamping lever by passing it over a guide bar 8 extending between the sides 2 of the casing, over the end of the lever 3 and down through a slot 5 and then under the cross-bar 4 forming the pivot of the clamping lever. Tension in the belt, when it is adjusted on the wearer, holds the butt end of the belt to the clamping lever which tilts about its pivot to grip the other end of the belt.
