Abstract

220,443. Morgan, W. A. July 26, 1923. Ornamenting. - A graining device for imitating the indentations and figure of oak has a series of toothed discs c, Figs. 1 and 7, mounted on an axle carried by a frame a and spaced by washers e, Fig. 13, slotted at f to engage a feather on the axle. The feather extends the whole length of the axle and engages slots s in the discs. In cutting the teeth or projections on the discs, the discs may be mounted on the axle and portions removed by milling or otherwise to correspond with the veining on the wood, the projections left scoring the wood. After scoring, the marking may be intensified by staining.
