Card games; discs and the like.-Apparatus for playing a game comprises a number of playing pieces divided into groups or suits, the pieces of each group bearing a design or portion of a design, the arrangement being such that a number of designs are thus provided, some or all of which can only be completed by assembling a number of pieces together. The pieces may consist of small square blocks 1 of a thickness about half their width, and the apparatus may consist of 150 blocks which form three identical sets of 48 pieces and six additional pieces each of which bears a complete design. Each set may be divided into three groups or suits 3, 4, 5, each having a characteristic and different colour as a background, and all the designs upon each group or suit may be of a similar nature and different in character from the devices on the other suits. Each suit may have designs 6, which are each complete on three or four pieces, respectively. Each pair or group of pieces which forms a. complete design may be numbered successively, as shown. In use, the pieces are placed face downwards and shuffled and then built into a pyramid. Players draw pieces and endeavour to complete designs and the game ceases when a pyramid of a particular number of discarded pieces is completed. The pieces may be of any regular polygonal shape, and cards may be used instead of blocks. The backs of the pieces are identically marked, and they are identical in shape and size, so that their value cannot be seen when they are placed face downwards.
