Abstract
A young child's cup, plate or bowl has an inwardly protruding ring to damp liquid oscillation and prevent spillage. When used with solid foods the inner ring aids transfer of food to an eating implement. The externally protruding ring and groove allow easy grip handling. Also disclosed is a detachable cover which extends over almost all the upper opening of the cup to prevent spillage whilst permitting drinking. <IMAGE>
Description
YOUNG CHILDS CUP, PLATE AND BOWL This invention relates to a young childs' cup, plate and bowl.
Cups, plates and bowls for the younger child are a widely
marketed variety of basic presentation recognized as a necces sary introduction in nurturing little hands to adapt to standard
apparrel as we know it. Such are unbreakable, easy to clean, of
a material which is lasting and able to contain an exceptable
level of heat, these cups, plates and bowls may be plain or
picturesque; a childs cup with a lid completely covering the
entirity of the rim with a moulded perferated nozzle from which
to drink is commonground, with or withou handles; wnilst plates
and bowls are presentably consistant in an expected shape
although are ol a somewhat squarer contour.
According to the present invention herein there is provided a child cup, plate and bowl with specific contour in shape to prevent spillage of foodstuffs and to enhance easier handling for the learning young. The cup, plate and bowl support a
moulded inner and outer protruding ring which, on the outer surface aids firmer. handling and on the inner surface of the
plate and bowl enables easier eating by means of foodstuff
being helped onto cutlery when said foodstuffs come into contact
with the inner ring; so to containing the foodstuff within the
surface area of the plate or bowl. The inner ring within the
cup, situated approximately one third of the cup depth from the
rim, assists the movements of liquids therein to remain within
the cup enticing the said liquid to spill down and not out over
the rim. In addition the cup also supports a detachable lip for
further prevention of spillage by covering approximately half
the circumferance of the top rim and which bevells down and
backwards in shape so as not to irratate or prevail normal
drinking. There is an inward groove near the base of the cup to
enhance easier handling. The cup, plate and bowl all carry a
solid base to give a minimal amount of weight sufficient for a
good standing mode.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described
by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings.
Drawing 1/4 ,Shows the cup at a cross section 1; the detachable
lip 2 insitu.
Drawing 2/4 Illustrate the cup 1 and the detachable lip 2 in
full.
Drawing 3/4 Shows the bowl at a cross section 3 and same in
full,
Drawing 4/4 Shows the plate at a cross. section 4 and in full.
Referring to the drawings - 1/4 The cross section of the cup reveals the moulded protruding RING . The inward protrusion, insitu approximately one third of the cup depth from the rim, aids in containing liquids withy whereby when movement occurs from liquids therein the ring entices same to spill down and in and not up and outward. The outer protrusion of the ring pre- vents slippage out of little hands. The GROOVE enhances a better grip for little fingers. The base is substantial for a good standing mode. The detachable lip p is shown insitu, this clips onto the rim of the cup 1.
Drawing 9/4 illustrates the cup 1 in full as is seen to the eye along with the detachable lip 2 which reveals the specific contour ensuing a pocket area so enabling liquids to be contained within the cup; as movement from the said liquid is forcing same against the lip the contour of the lip encourages the liquid downwards.
In drawing 3/4 the bowl 3 reveals the moulded protruding RING.
The inward protrusion, insitu just below the rim, enables foodstuff to be encouraged onto cutlery when said foodstuffs come into contact with the inner ring; so to containing foodstuffs withir, -the bowl. The outer protrusion of the ring aids easier handling. The base is substantial for a good standing mode.
The illustrated plate on drawing 4/4 reveals the plate 4 at a cross section and the moulded protruding RING in this example is realistic to the inner side and upper rim of the plate to be consistant in appearance; so too encouraging foodstuffs onto cutlery when said foodstuffs come into contact with inner ring whereby containing foodstuffs within the plate. The base is substantial for a good standing mode.
