Abstract
A door or window seal arrangement comprises deformable circular seals 4 in corresponding seatings 2 in both wing 1 and frame 3 at the hinge side of the wing. A J-section seal 9 may also be included. <IMAGE>
Description
A TIGHT CO6PI,I.;o FOR DOORS AND WINDOWS
The present invention, as expressed by the title of this specification, refers to a tight coupling for doors and windows, wit~ which a completely sealed closure of the leaf with respect to the frame is attained.
In broad outline, the tight coupling proposed by the invention is carried out by at least a resilient joint, fitted into the corresponding location perimetrically provided at whichever of the elements forming the closure, that is, fitted either into the structure of the door or of the frame, it being pressed when closing and gradually with it.
The resilient profile of the joint can be circularly or polygonally-sectioned and fits adjustedly into the corresponding perimetrical location provided at the peripheral stop and closure angle of the leaf or frame, indistinctly. The hermetic seal is reinforced by a joint having a "J"-profile, the wing of which is outwardly roected so as to define a flexible arm that adjust itself into the closure on the perimetrical edge of the other additional element of the closure
This "J"-profiled joint is located in the peripheral location mechanized at the closing edre and with a half a point amplitude that extends itself towards the inside of the front frame in order to retain immovably the other end of the resilient profile finishing into a bent.In the assembly, the front frame keeps this resilient joint immobile, the stem of the latter leans on the half-point location, so that the flexible arm emerges obliquely for carning out its purpose. - The proposed tight coupling can be used both for doors and windows and in the inner edge of the drip plate profile and of the pane-adjustin# reeds, the assembling thereof being extremely simple and effective.
For a better comprehension of the characteristics of the invention and as an integral part of this specification, a drawing sheet is attached thereto, the fissures of which represent, with an illustrative but not-limitinz character, the following: Fleure 1.- It is a partial, cross-sectioned view of the closure of a door or window including the tight coupling according to the invention.
Figure 2.- It is an enlarged view of the resilient "J"-profile, corresponding to the one shown in figure 1.
Reference being made to the numeration indicated in the above mentioned figures, it can be seen how. the tight coupling for windows and doors is carried out according to the invention by providing at the wooden, plastic or metal profile frame, generally referred to with number 1, with a perimetrical or peripheral location, referred to with num ber 2, having a preferably circular section, although it could also have a similar section, such as polygonal, being performed such as shown in figure 1, opened towards the edge for closing with frame 3, so that the joint 4 therein lo cated is gradually pressed during the door or window closing operation.
The location 2 remains therefore opened towards the outside of the profile 1 itself and the section of the location at this profile occupies about three quarters the section of the joint 4, so that the latter is retained inside it. In the case shown in fi,-ure 1, wherein the location 2 section and the joint 4 are circular, the distance between the ends of the arch corresponding to the periphery of the location 2, is smaller than the diameter thereof, this condi tion being enough as to prevent the joint 4 from fortuitous ly going out.
Similarly, helping towards a better hermetic seal, the frame 3 includes in its inner stop and closure edge for the leaf 5, another perimetrical slot 2 and joint 4 of similar geomerm.r and disposition, in order to carry out the same aim.
lihen turning the leaf 5 in the hinges 6, a gradual tightening is attained,as closing on, of the outer edges of the leaf and frame case against the outer and free surface of the joints 4, so that the latter are resilient deformed.
Concerning the casing 1 and frame 3, wherein the peripheral stop and closure angle is defined, their profile can be formed by assembling superposed and outphased plates, each one having the corresponding mechanized sector for form ing at the junction the location 2 for the joint 4, or a single profile can be used with the same outer geometry wherein the location 2 is obtained by milling, such as represented in zhe embodiment shown in the figures.
A front and additional casing 7 has also been provided with a slot 8 in one of the vertexes adjacent the profile wherein it is engaged, in which slot 8 a resilient labial joint 9 is fitted and retained, the latter having a "J"-pro file, the wing 10 of which is obliquely projected outwards in order to define a flexible arm that adjusts itself, when closing the leaf or window, on the perimetrical edge of the other additional closing element. In the shown case, the labial joint 9 is located in the additional casing 7, leaning against the casing 1, its flexible arm 10 pressing against the perimetrical edge of the frame 3 and welded to the wall 11.
The stem 12 of the "J"-shaped labial profile 9 extends itself by its free end into an orthogonal arm 13 provided with a bent 14, the arm 13 and bent 14 determining the means for retaining and immobilizing the joint in the location 8 adapted to its geometrical shave.
Although a tight coupling including two resilient cylindrical joints 4 and a labial joint 9, through which a perfect hermetic seal can be obtained, has been shown, someone of them can be removed when, due to the climatic conditions of the zone wherein it is used, it does not require so high a degree of hermeticity.
