Abstract

A Cheque-book counterfoil holder has a body 1, mounting strip 2 and/or guard strip 3 to hold the Cheque-book- counterfoil booklet. The lowermost leaf of the booklet underlies strip 2 and the bound edge is retained in step 3 one or more such mounting strips and/or guard strips may be arranged on the body of the holder as an integral part of the body or by welding, soldering, stapling, adhesive and/or other bonding means. A cover 5 may be provided for the body of the holder. The Cheque-book-counterfoil is used as a file as a standalone on its own or used in conjunction with a mother file to file Cheque-book-counterfoil booklets, using filing holes 6. <IMAGE>

Description

INVENTION OF CHEQUE -BOOK- COUNTOfO IL HOLDERFTT.Tz I, CHONG Sze-Choon, I/C 4636594 of 80 Lorong Zaaba, Taman Tun Ismail, 60000 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, do hereby declare the invention, for which I pray that a patent may be granted to me, and the method by which it is to be performed to be particularly described in and by the following statement: This invention relates to a Cheque-book-counterfoil holderfile.
Cheques are well known bills of exchange presented for payments.
The cheques are usually printed by the banks for their account holders in the form of a page of certain standard size body with a counterfoil, a perforated line separating the two, so as to enable the main body of the cheque to be torn off for presentation as a bill of exchange after the relevant details have been filled. The counterfoil is to record some details of the payment of that particular cheque for future references. The size of the cheque body is usually according to the specification of the cheque clearing houses. Usually the banks present the new cheques for their account holders in the form of a cheque book containing a number of pages of cheques. When all the cheques in the cheque book are consumed there is then left the Cheque-bookcounterfoils which is itself another little booklet written with payment details for future references.
At the present moment keeping these little booklets of Chequebook-counterfoil presents difficulties in filing and retrieval for references.
According to the present invention there is provided a holderfile comprising a body, means for mounting the Cheque-book-counterfoil booklets on the body, and/or means to provide a positive mount to prevent the Cheque-book-counterfoil booklet from slipping out of the holder, a cover for the body, the body being adapted to attach to a motherfile by holes at the side of the body of the holder.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which Fig 1 show in perspective, the Cheque-book-counterfoil holderfile with the Cheque-book-counterfoil booklet mounted in position on the body.
Fig 2 illustrates the mount strip and the guard strip to mount the Cheque-book-counterfoil booklet Refering to the drawing shown in Appendix 1 and Appendix 2, the holder comprises a body 1, a mount strip 2 and a guard strip 3.
The mount strip and guard strip is secured on the body as integral part of the body or by welding, soldering, stapling, adhesive and/or other bonding means 4 on its side/s to effect the guard strip and the mount strip to the body to hold the Chequebook-counterfoil booklet; and a cover 5.
While a multiplicity of material may be suitable to be used as the body, mount strip, guard strip and cover, in its present embodiment they are of clear/transparent plastic.
In order to mount the Cheque-book-counterfoil booklet, the Cheque-book-counterfoil booklet or its page/s in whole or in part is slid in between the body 'and the mount strip. The guard strip secure the Cheque-book-counterfoil to prevent it from slipping out of the mount, while a multiplicity of numbers and configurations of such mount strips and guard strips may be arranged on the body.
The Cheque-book-counterfoil holderfile is provided with a cover 5 of clear/transparent material.
In order to file, it may be filed as a stand-alone on its own or holes 6 made or other means to attach the Cheque-book-counterfoil holder to a motherfile. In its present embodiment two standard spaced and sized holes are made on the side of the body to be attached to a motherfile.

Claims (5)

  1. WHAT WE CLAIM IS: 1. A Cheque-book-counterfoil holderfile comprising a body, means for mounting the Cheque-book-counterfoil booklets on the body, and/or means to provide a positive mount to prevent the Chequebook-counterfoil booklet from slipping out of the mount strip, a cover for the body, the body being adapted to attach to a motherfile by holes at the side of the body of the holder.
  2. 2. A Cheque-book-counterfoil holderfile as claimed in Claim 1 wherein mounting and/or guard strips are provided on the body of the holder-file to hold the Cheque-book-counterfoil booklets.
  3. 3. A Cheque-book-counterfoil holderfile as claimed in Claim 1 or Claim 2 wherein a cover is provided for the holderfile.
  4. 4. A Cheque-book-counterfoil holderfile as claimed in Claim 3 wherein hole/s are made on the side of the holderfile to attach the holderfile onto a motherfile.
  5. 5. A file for use to file cheque-book-counterfoil booklets as in Claim 4 and substantially herein before described, with references to and as illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
