Automatic-feed weighers.-Apparatus for the automatic measuring of grain by weighing comprises a rotatable drum a divided into several compartments and carried by a pivoted beam b, a weight c being employed to balance the drum. The weight c is chosen so as to balance the weight of grain which fills one of the compartments of the drum a. A " compensator " j is carried by the drum axle h and serves, by means of a brush k to strike off the excess of grain fed into one compartment into the next compartment on rotation of the drum. Stops q, r engage catches i<1>- - i' to hold the drum while filling and discharging, and a link m prevents displacement of the compensator j. Links p, carried by the rods l operate a shutter on the shoot n. The periphery of each compartment is partly closed by a fixed member and also by a flap f, which is normally held closed by the guide g, and allowed to fall, as shown, in the emptying position. A ratchet-wheel s and pawl s<1> prevent backward rotation of the drum and serve to operate a counter.
