Abstract

219,044. Sharp, P. Feb. 21, 1923. Delivery, stopping. - A manually operated mechanism for stopping the delivery of roving, embodies some of the features disclosed in Specification 125,682 including an arm a pivoted at a<1> and provided with a guide a<2> through which the raving x is guided to the feed rolls b, b<1> and drawing rolls c, c<1>. Adjacent to each roving x, a knob e on the end of a rod e<1> is provided, the rod e<1> being pivoted to a lever g formed with a finger g<1> which normally restrains a link i from movement. On breakage of a thread, or threads, the operator manipulates the corresponding knobs e, and for each thread the finger g<1> acts on a spring-controlled catch h and releases a spindle j and the link i. A weight j<2> pulls over the link i and with it the arm a so that the roving x is taken out of the nip of the corrugated part b<2> of the roll b into a groove b<3> in the roll b<1> and is simultaneously lifted clear of the drawing-rolls c, c<1>. When the arm a is moved back, the mechanism is automatically reset.
