Abstract

This invention discloses a method of conditioning bath water by adding to the water a permeable container containing a pre-determined amount of bath additives so that the additives are caused to be dissolved into the water. The container may be provided with retaining means such as a loop or a fastenable elongated strip or the container itself may take the form of a loop. A further exemplification takes the form of a plurality of containers joined together so as to form a loop. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Permeable sachets This invention relates two a sachet containerfor bath additives which may be added to the bath water in orderto improve the quality of bathing.
There are many types of containers for bath additives, such containers being typically openable wherein quantities of the contents may be poured into the bath water. The disadvantages of such containers arethat it is difficultto control the quantityof the contents being added to the bath water and that the contents must be physically added to the bath water once or a number oftimes, preferably in the area of the bath where water from the taps flows into the bath so that the bath salts are more efficiently dissolved and circulated around the bath by the turbulence ofthewater.
The present invention provides a permeable sachet container which is filled with a predetermined quantity of bath additives and subsequently sealed.
The sachet is fitted with retaining means whereby the sachet may be held in position in the area ofthe bath into which water from the bath taps flows. The sachet will typically be fastened to the bath plug chain or to the bath taps, although any convenient fastening point may be utilised. Waterflowing from the bath taps and the resulting turbulentwaterwill cause the contents ofthe sachetto begraduallydis- solved and washed outthrough the permeable walls ofthesachetand circulatedthroughoutthevolume of water in the bath. By this arrangement, a predetermined quantity of bath additives may be efficiently distributed into the bath water without the need for the batherto physically add bath additives.
After use, the sachet wili simply be removed from the bath and disposed of.
An embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings wherein: Figure liy a perspective view of a sachet according to the invention; and Figure2 shows a sachet in position for use in a bath into which water is flowing.
Figure 3 shows an embodiment of the invention wherein the sachet container is in the form of a loop or in the form of an elongated strip which is fastenable to form a loop.
Figure 4shows an embodiment of the invention wherein two sachet containers are joined together in such a manner as to form a loop.
Referring to Figure 1 ofthe drawings, the sachet 2 has permeable walls 4, a loop fastening means 6 and fastening tapes 8 and 10. The sachet is filled with a predetermined quantity of bath additives and sealed.
Referring to figure 2 ofthe drawings, the sachet2 is in position ready for use in a bath and is held in position byvirtue of the bath plug chain 12 being inserted through the loop fastening means 6. Aswater from the bath taps flows into the bath typically at points and B, the water from the taps and the result ing turbulentwater in the bath flows around the sachet 2 and through the permeable walls 4thereof causing the contents of the sachet to be gradually dissolved and washed out through the permeable walls 4.
The contents of the sachet 2 are circulated throughoutthe volume of the bath water.
Alternatively, the sachet may be held in place by means of the fastening tapes 8 and 10.
Referring to Figure 3 of the drawings, the sachet containerforthe bath additives is in the form of a loop or in the form of an elongated strip which is fastenable to form a loop, through which the bath plug chain may be inserted to hold the container in position.
Referring to Figure 4 of the drawings, two sachet containers are joined together end to end, there- spectivecorners being joined so as to form a loop between the containers through which the bath plug chain may be inserted.
In a further embodiment, the sachet may befilled with dry shampoo and used in a hand wash basin for washing hair.
1. A method of conditioning bath water comprising adding tothewatera containerwhich contains a predetermined amount of water soluble bath additive and which is of sufficient permeability thatthe water flows into and out of the container dissolving the additive and infusing it into the bath water.
2. A permeable container for bath additives incorporating a retaining means for holding the containerin position.
3. A permeable container for bath additives according to claim 2which is filled with a quantity of bath additives and subsequently sealed.
4. A permeable container for bath additives according to claim 2 wherein the retaining means is in the form of a loop.
5. A permeable containerfor bath additives according to claim 2 wherein the retaining means is in the form of a fastenable elongated strip.
6. A permeable container for bath additives according to claim 2 wherein the container is in the form of a loop.
7. Permeable containers for bath additives according to claim 2 wherein two or more containers are joined together so as to form a loop.
8. A permeable container for bath additives substantially as described herein and with reference to the accompanying drawings.
