Although the invention can be put into practice in
a number of ways, reference is now made, by way of
example, to the accompanying Figure which is a
block diagram of an embodiment of the present
invention.
As shown in the Figure, an apparatus for magnetic
therapy embodying the present invention basically
comprises a control block 1, a functional generator 2
for generating carrying (carrier) signals 2, a second
functional generator 4 for generating modulating
signals, a modulator 3, a buffer amplifier 5, a co
ordinating unit 6, an inductor 7, a magnetic field
meter 8, and a programmable timer 9.
According to the Figure, a first output of control
block 1 is connected with the first input of the
functional generator of carrying signals 2 that is
realised as a generator of linearly varying voltage
2.1, the output of which is connected with the input
of frequency meter 2.2 and simultaneously with the
input of voltage-frequency converter 2.3 whose first
output is connected to an input of a former of
sinusoidal voltage 2.4, the output of which is
connected with the first input of multiplexer 2.5. The
second output of voltage-frequency converter 2.3 is
connected also with the second input of multiplexer
2.5. The fourth input of the multiplexer is the second
input of the functional generator of carrying signals
2 and is connected to the second output of control
block 1.The output of multiplexer 2.5 forms the
output of the functional generator of carrying
signals 2 and is connected with the first input of
modulator 3.
The third output of control block 1 is connected
with the first input of the functional generator of
modulating signals 4. The latter is realized as a
generator of carrying linearly varying voltage 4.1,
the output of which is connected with the input of
frequency meter 4.2 and with the input of a second
voltage-frequency converter 4.3 whose first output is connected with the input of the former (generator) of carrying sinusoidal voltage 4.4. The output of the latter is connected with the first input of a second multiplexer 4.5. The first output of the second voltage-frequency converter is connected with the second input of the second multiplexer 4.5, while the second output of the second voltage-frequency converter is connected with the third input of the second multiplexer 4.5.The latter has a fourth input which constitutes the second input of the functional generator of modulating signals 4 and is connected with the fourth output of control block 1. The output of the second multiplexer 4.5 constitutes the output of the second functional generator of modulating signals 4 and is connected with the second input of modulator 3, the output of which through the second input of buffer amplifier 5, a second input of coordinating unit 6 and inductor 7 is connected with an input of the measuring device of magnetic field 8.
The fifth and sixth outputs of control block 1 are connected with the first input of buffer amplifier 5 and with the first input of coordinating unit 6. The input of control block 1 is connected with the output of programmable timer 9.
The apparatus operates in the following manner.
In control block 1 there is preset a particular operational regime of the apparatus and a
respective duration of the therapy by means of connection of the output of programmable timer 9 with the input of control block 1. By means of the connections of the third and fifth output of control
block 1 respectively with the first and second input of functional generator of carrying signals 2, the frequency and form of the carrying (carrier) oscillations are changed. By means of the connections of first and second output of control block 1 respectively with the first and second input of the second functional generator of modulating signals 4, the frequency and form of the modulating oscillations are modified. In the outputs of both functional generators 2 and 4 the form of oscillations can be trishaped (triangle wave, ramp wave), rectangular or sinusoidal depending on the selected operational conditions in the control block 1.
The frequency operational regimes of the functional generator of modulating oscillation are in the range from 0 to 100 Hz. The frequency can change linearly automatically for a determined period of time "T" from 0 to 100 Hz and reversely, from 0 to a frequency fx and reversely for fx in the range from 0 to 100 Hz and functional frequency in the range from 0 to 100 Hz.
The frequency of the functional generator of carrying signals 2 changes stepwise in the range from 500 Hzto 2000 Hz and in linear manner automatically in the same range. From the output of modulator 3, as a result of the signals transmitted to its inputs there is obtained an amplitude modulated oscillation with frequency modulation of the carrying and modulating oscillation. The depth of the amplitude modulation may be up to 98%. This oscillation is transmitted on its partthrough the buffer amplifier 5, the amplification of which is controlled by the connection of its first input with the fifth output of control block 1 via the coordinating unit 6 to the input of inductor 7, which generates the required magnetic field for therapy purposes.
Through the connection of the first input of coordinating unit 6 with the sixth output of control block 1 there is effected the control of coordinating unit 6 depending on the type of inductors 7 used. By means of the two frequency meters 2.2 and 4.2 the change in the carrying and modulating frequency can be checked. The tension (strength) of the magnetic field can be controlled or monitored by the measuring device of magnetic field 8.
As mentioned above, the apparatus for magnetic therapy comprises a generator of carrier sinusoidal voltage, a control block (1), a voltage-frequency converter (4.3) and a generator of modulating sinusoidal voltage (4.4), the latter being connected with the first input of a multiplexer (4.5), the second input of which is connected with the output of the voltage-frequency converter (4.3) while the fourth input of the multiplexer (4.5) is connected with the fourth output of the control block (1). A generator of linearly changing carrier voltage (2.1) is connected with a second voltage-frequency converter (2.3) and a frequency meter (2.2).
