Abstract

218,797. Jenkins, F. T. May 17, 1923. Roller bearings.-A colliery corve axle bearing has the trunnions d, e of the bearing rollers a journaled in a bearing block c. One trunnion d is shorter than the other trunnion e and the lower surface of the bearing for the trunnion e is bevelled so that each roller a can be removed after the shorter trunnion d has been moved axially from its bearing. The rollers are held in their operative position by an axle strap h which fits in recesses in the face of the bearing block c so that it does not project beyond the face thereof and which is secured by a cotter j.
