Abstract

A multi-purpose tea-table table top (3) comprising a top plate (32) and a bottom plate (31). The plates (31) (32) have hinges (33) and can be unfolded into a dining table. The height of the table can be extended or retracted by turning the winder (43) and the table top may be rotated about a screw (34). A basin (22) is formed directly below the table top (3) and may contain a tea set. In addition, an L-shaped cupboard (13) (14) provided below the basin (22) may hold a liquefied gas tank or other necessities, a stove can be placed on the platform (1) formed by the L-shaped cupboard. Rollers (12), enable the table to be conveniently moved from place to place. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Multi-purpose tea-table Accordingly, it is an object of this invention to provide a multi-purpose tea-table in which the table top can be enlarged by unfolding the top plate of said table top.

It is another object of this invention to provide a multi-purpose tea-table in which the table top can be extended or retracted by an elevating means.

It is a further object of the invention to provide a multi-purpose tea-table in which the table top can be rotated about a center.

Still another object of the invention to provide a multi-purpose tea-table which including a L-shaped cupboard and subdivided into two portions for retaining liquefied gas tank, magazines or tea cups.

Yet still another object of the invention to provide a multi-purpose tea-table in which the base of said table is provided with roller so that the said table can be easily moved around.

Yet another and still further object of the invention to provide a multi-purpose tea-table whereby, a tea set, a stove, a liquefied gas tank being kept in a convenient space of said table.

Yet another and still further object of the invention to provide a multi-purpose tea-table in which it can be carried on a station-wagon or van, such that it can be used for picnic or other outdoor activities.

Other objects and features of novelty will be apparent from the following specification when read in connection with the accompanying drawings in which one embodiment of the invention is illustrated by way of example.

FIG. 1 shows a perspective view of the preferred embodiment of the present invention; FIG. 2 shows an exploded view of the preferred embodiment of the present invention; FIG. 3 is a side elevational view in partial section showing operation of the invention with certain of the internal components; FIG. 4 is a front perspective view in accordance with the features of the present invention in which the table top is rotated in another direction.

Referring now to the drawings, more particularly to FIG. 1,there is shown and illustrated a multipurpose tea-table constructed in accordance with the principies of the present invention. The tea-table comprising a table top (3), including a top plate (32) and a bottom plate (31) with identical size and they are hinged at one of the longer lateral edges by hinges (33). As a result, the top plate (32) may be unfolded as shown in FIG. 4, and hence the surface area of said table top (3) is increased and may be used as a dining table. Referring now to FIG. 2, peg (35) and screw (34) are disposed at the bottom surface of bottom plate (31).A moveable supporting platform (2) which comprise of a basin (22) for retaining tea set, an arch-shaped groove (211) is provided on the surface (21) such that said peg (35) at the bottom plate (31) is slidablywithin the groove (211). An aperture (212) is provided on the moveable supporting platform (2), whereby said aperture (212) is correspond to the screw (34), such that said screw (34) can pass through said aperture (212) and secured by nut (341). Guilding plates (25) (24) (24') and (26) are disposed perpendicularly to the moveable supporting platform (2).A L-shaped cupboard formed the basement of said tea-table and it is subdivided into two cupboards (13) (14), whereby the smaller cupboard (14) is provided with slidably glass panel (141) in order to enclose said cupboard (14); while the bigger cupboard (13) with door is meant for retaining a liquefied gas tank. At the inner wall of the said larger cupboard (13), it is mounted with an elevating means which comprise of a vertical shaft (4) with screw thread, a rotatable screw threaded element (45) is fitted to the shaft (4) and it is mounted to the end of guilding plate (26), at the body of the shaft (4), a geared-wheel (41) is fitted which is in engage with the thread of a shorter horizontal rotating shaft (42). At one end of rotating shaft (42), a winner (43) is generally provided.The vertical shaft (4) is positioned vertically by two holders (44) (46), as shown particularly in FIG. 3. On the top of the cupboard (13), two slots (131) (16) is provided which correspond to the passage of the guilding plates (25) (26) respectively, whereas the guilding plates (24) (24') are sliding along the space formed by supporting plate (11) and the exterior wall of said cupboard (13). Along the said wall, an aperture (17) is positioned so that the tube for liquefied gas can be transported to the stove, as shown in FIG. 4.

Please refer to FIG. 3, rollers (12) are mounted to the base of tea-table which enable the tea-table to be move freely. Two rubber pads (15) are mounted to the lateral side of base so that when said pads (15) are slided down, it causes a greater frictional force between the ground and said pads (15), as a result, the tea-table can be stationary at the desire place.

Please refer to FIG. 3 again, when the winder (43) is rotated, the thread of horizontal shaft (42) is in engaged with the gear of the geared-whell (41), as a result, the vertical shaft (4) is thus rotated. Since the rotatable screw threaded element (45) is provided with female screw thread, therefore it will move along the vertical shaft (4) either upward or downward, in turn, the table top (3) is extended or retracted according to individual need.

With reference to FIG. 2 and FIG. 4, the table top (3) is connected to the moveable supporting platform (2) by means of screw (34) and nut (341), the nut (341) is locked to the screw (34) but it is not tightened, so that the table top (3) can be rotated about the screw (34) as a center. Since the peg (35) is exactly fitted into the groove (211), as a result, the table top (3) can oniy rotatated at a definite angle.

With reference now to FIG. 4, there is shown and illustrated a tea-table in which a tea set is within the basin (22), a liquefied gas tank is kept in the cupboard (13), a stove is provided on top (platform (1)) of the smaller cupboard (14) whereby cups and other necessities can be kept in said cupboard (14).

As a whole, the preferred embodiment is a compact and unique arrangement.

Various changes and modifications may be made in the embodiment illustrated and described herein without departing from the scope of the invention as set forth in the following claims.

Claims

1. A multi-purpose tea-table essentially comprises of a moveable table top, in which the said table top consists of two flat plates of identical size, hinge at one of the longer lateral edges such that the table top can be unfolded and enlarged, the bottom plate ofthetabletofris mounted a peg which can be slided within a groove, a screw is mounted below the bottom plate such that the screw can be locked by a nut after the said screw has passed through the aperture of the moveable platform, the table top is rotated with the said screw as the center; a moveable platform, which provided with a basin and guiding plates are mounted perpendicularly to the moveable platform which adapted for the inserting to the slot of the cupboard; a L-shaped cupboard which further sub-divided into two cupboards, of which the larger cupboard is for retaining liquefied gas tank; ; an elevating means is mounted to the inner wall of the larger cupboard, the said means comprising of a vertical shaft, a geared-wheel in engage with the thread of a rotatable horizontal shaft; a fitting element with female screw thread is fitted to the vertical shaft, so that when said shaft is rotated, the table top is either extended or retracted.

2. A multi-purpose tea-table substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to and as illustrated in the various figures of the accompanying drawings.
